High propensity rich republicans turnout, nothing really groundbreaking. Question is will you get enough poor republicans to get off the couch and not lose enough votes in the suburbs
Montgomery County finishes the day at 81.4% of 2024 Day 1 turnout. Travis County polls are still open for another hour, but the total % for Travis is going to be well short of Montgomery. All in all, a good day for the Texas GOP, especially in Montgomery County.

High turnout helps the party that isnt despised at the moment dumbass
High turnout helps Republicans. It’s not 2012 anymore.

Like no high turnout isnt going to help republicans when they control all chambers of government and gas prices is 6 bucks/gallon

Kind of hate extrapolating early voting trends but like there is 0 silver lining for republicans at all, getting smoked everywhere

Worst super team of all time?
McVay: Davante Adams (knee) will miss 6-10 weeks.

Looks like we’re definitely in herding season
New Texas poll: University of Houston/Hobby School of Public Affairs: Talarico: 48% Paxton: 46% Ted Brown: 3% Undecided: 3% They don’t have a post-primary poll to compare this to, so we don’t really know if there is any movement either way! This pollster underestimated Republicans in 2024, but underestimated Dems in 2022.

Would be a great ad for someone who has been in a coma for two years
AdImpact: Republican Super PAC releases national ad “Michael is a normal guy. He loves a tailgate and he kinda hates politics. He was ready to skip voting this year. But he remembered Democrats are crazier than his ex.” The ad aired yesterday at the Notre Dame v. BYU game.

Might be a historically bad 1pm slate from the nfl lol

Batch of Mail Ballots - Clark County, NV (SOS dashboard) 10/17/2026 - Total Ballots Dem 16,556 (40.5%) Rep 12,271 (30.0%) OTH 12,011 (29.7%) Total 40,838 Dems +4,285 Big update. This is why I've been warning about early comparisions. These ~5k drop offs were D+31. More?

Yes because dems havent frontloaded mail due to switching voting patterns, encouraging for the GOP
Looks like some method swapping in Clark County, Nevada! Dems are much stronger in person, but add the mail and their lead is smaller than in the early snapshots from both prior cycles. Still partial, and reporting differs, but encouraging for the GOP.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out in the states where in person voting is basically non-existent but yea this isnt at all surprising
Early in-person, Clark County, NV (SoS) 10/17/2026 - 9:30 am PT Dem 423 (43.1%) Rep 353 (36.0%) Other 205 (20.9%) Total 981 Dem +7.1% (2024 Rep +19.1%) There may be different precincts reporting at one time which could skew, but day generally gets more Dem through time.

Yea if richmond is actually turning out then pretty bad news for republicans, though I maintain that Jackson has a shot because of KLB losing votes for no reason in the atlanta metro
Cumulative statistics for Georgia's 2026 early voting after its 4th day, per Georgiavotes.com right here. Richmond County (Augusta) being dark green is a major sign of a bluer electorate than in 2022 and 2024, as Dems struggled with turnout there in those years.

Yes because of two days of only mail voting that democrats are increasingly paranoid of using
As much as 2026 looks good for Dems, from Nevada to Minnesota to Michigan it’s pretty easy to tell a potential bullish story for the GOP in the future (which largely wasn’t the case in 2018).

Just realized schumer unironically is spending money for Colm as I remember progressives complaining about that because he wasn’t burning cash in Florida instead
Yes it is true that dscc and senate majority pac aren’t sending money to AES if you were to live under a rock (who is Scott colom)

Rep. Ayanna Pressley in MI just praised AOC for the $1 million — and ripped DSCC. “The DSCC should take note because it is shameful that we are not seeing an equitable investment in progressive and diverse candidates like Abdul El-Sayed, like Angie Nixon, like Scott Colom.”
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ayanna Pressley is incorrect. Not only has the DSCC supported the El-Sayed campaign with $16 million so far, the Senate Majority PAC of Sen. Schumer has spent an additional $10 million in support of El-Sayed axios.com/2026/09/16/abd…

You may not be able to afford gas anymore and your family farm is doomed but here is a washed nfl player with me

Just have to conveniently ignore dems switching to in person voting
Roughly 4,000 more Dems have cast early ballots compared to 2022. Roughly 40,000 fewer have requested absentee ballots. Republicans are up on both fronts. Blue wave? I ain’t seeing it.
