Hello - I wrote a new blog about the teaching of whole class reading, which I haven't in a while. It's over 9000 words so quite a read, but I hope the comprehensive nature of it comes across as helpful, rather than patronising. Anyway - hope it's useful!

Mixed age classes are not the end of the world!!! Schools across the sector are running them brilliantly and there are oodles of people who can offer help and advice #bettertogether
Primary schools struggling with falling pupil numbers could be forced to run mixed-age classes to cope financially, and some may have to close, warns @TheNFER report tes.com/magazine/news/genera…
As always, exceptional.
It might also mean changing the way schools try to improve academic standards – a shift away from systems designed to track and drive progress through numbers and grades and a refocusing on the substance of learning itself –
New blog post. Christian Inclusion.
My talk to the Flourishing Trusts Network on prioritising vulnerable children and how to frame this within a Christian values system.

We have many schools with mixed age classes @DartmoorMAT and the children get an excellent deal.
There is often trepidation from parents around changing the model but the provision is superb and if you want to see truly superb teaching you will find it in mixed age classes

There is absolutely nothing like the weight-lifting- off -shoulders feeling of a successful dry-weather sports day.
Massive guilt about having a complete weekend off as a birthday treat to myself! When did simply resting become so difficult?

Why did Rishi come to Torridge and Tavistock to help Sir Geoffrey? Was it this poll the Daily Mail used in its story, a mega poll? You are reading it correctly, Isabel Saxby Labour not just winning, but now surging ahead to oust Sir Geoffrey Cox #creamfirstpeoplefirst

Wonderful trip to Normandy with @DartmoorMAT. Kids were excellent and a tour de force of organisation by Liz, @vejjordan and @mradamhill . French school visit a particular highlight!
After a tough week this was TV that really hit the spot. It was a beautifully acted drama with a smattering of big musical numbers, some gorgeous drag costumes, fantastic acting, even lots of lovely lilting Welsh. I cried buckets. Really needed this three episode binge.
