“Racisme is een mening geworden,” zegt een jonge Parisienne. Een waarheid die ook elders geldt. En dat is zorgelijk. (En triest.)

How remarkable that an agricultural worker in the 1930s had access to better tailoring than the US Vice President today.

If a great Irish writer’s books can no longer be published in the UK because she stands with Palestine, the question isn’t what law might Sally Rooney have broken, it’s what sort of country has Britain become. irishtimes.com/culture/books…
Eindelijk! Maar wat een mooi moment. Officieel “Master of Arts” of in mooi Nederlands: “Doctorandus in de letteren” door de master Letterkunde aan de Radboud.
Collins: I was successful at getting road salt removed from the tariff list.
Jackson: What about everything else? We can’t eat road salt. With everything she’s doing with the Iran war, there will be so many less people that can afford to drive that I’m not even sure the road salt will be worth anything.
Dit is zeker wel een ding – een ding waar we nog vaak en in vele gevallen over gaan lezen.
(Bovendien is de vraag waarom juist zijn roman werd gescand interessant en belangrijk – en misschien veelzeggend.)

OH. MY. GOD.
If you have EVER fantasized about what you'd tell trump to his face if you had the chance, Rep. Joyce Beatty just DID that.
He thought he was going to call her names. And he found out.

There is very little clear footage of flight 11 flying over manhattan and striking the north tower. Practically none exists in fact.
But we have Jules Naudet’s footage, that not only captures this rare event, but actually follows firemen into those very towers that ultimately became perhaps the most famous unintended film and documentary ever created.
Jules is tagging along with batallion chief Joseph pfeifer as they respond to a mundane gas leak call at church and lispenard.
The firsr couple minutes is pretty boring, regular Tuesday morning work. Beautiful sunny day, twin towers in the background.
Until 1 min 45 sec into the footage can you can an unusually low jetliner flying directly over manhattan. Everyone looks up in confusion, and what they see next changed America forever.
