By your logic, if Lashkar-e-Taiba made an even grander Ramayan film, casting Dawood as Dashrath & Hafiz Saeed as Ram, should we all watch it simply because our civilizational story deserves to be told? What matters is anti Hindu can't play a part in telling Hindu religious story.
I understand disagreements over casting, actors, actresses and creative choices. Those conversations are natural. But what I cannot understand is the eagerness to ridicule an entire project before watching it, sometimes crossing the line into mocking our own scriptures. People questioned Jatayu’s presence, his association with Dasharath ji and kept asking, “Yeh kab hua tha?” Many making these jokes hadn’t even bothered to understand Valmiki Ramayana. A written epic and a visual adaptation are two different storytelling mediums. Context sometimes has to be established visually. Our Itihas deserves more than the half-hearted adaptations we have seen in the past, with compromised budgets, limited ambition and visuals that fail to communicate the grandeur of our glorious past. We need filmmakers willing to dream big, invest big and take these stories to the world. With an Oscar-winning VFX powerhouse like DNEG involved, this is a significant cinematic moment. I understand that not every filmmaker will be familiar to us, and not every creative decision will immediately appeal to everyone. Sometimes, we have to allow people the space to surprise us. From what I have seen and heard so far, the attempt has been to present the story with dignity and respect for our sentiments. And that matters. A film like this doesn’t come along every day. It is a rare opportunity to see our civilisation’s greatest story envisioned on a global cinematic canvas. Watch it in cinemas. Take your children along. This is an experience meant for the big screen, not just snippets watched on a phone. Let them see, understand and become curious about the stories that shaped our civilisation. And while you are at it, pick up Valmiki Ramayana. Read it yourself, encourage your children to read it too. A cinematic experience can spark curiosity, but understanding our scriptures is a journey we must undertake ourselves. We can have our criticisms, but let us not become so cynical that we forget to celebrate when someone actually attempts something this ambitious with our own stories. I would rather see a hundred attempts to take our Itihas to the world than see it remain confined to conversations within our own homes. Some stories deserve to be told. Some deserve to be retold. And some deserve to be seen on the biggest screen possible. #Ramayana is one of them.

Ramayana - part 1 Legendary cinema When Ramayana teaser came I had zero expectations When trailers came I wasn’t too impressed But when I saw Yash Shiva Tandav song trailer I thought vow this is gonna be good I went with huge expectations and still I was blown away by the movie You go with any expectations it will still surprise you It will still vow you It will still make you cry It will still give you goosebumps It will still make you feel Yea this is cinema at it best Indian epics deserve to be told in a world class film like how Hollywood showed Odyssey this year or Gladiator or Lord of the rings And it came in form of Ramayana Man, each frame is straight from heaven The actors look like real Gods The world building looks like real places depicted in epics at all their grandeur The music sounded like Oscar worthy The VFX felt like wow you are in a different world The emotions make you cry The entire episode of Rama going to vanvas was like a poetry on screen It makes you feel inside ur heart why Rama became God It makes you think - this family of brothers mothers wives is the Best family that ever lived in human history cos they are Gods born to teach us how to live like humans Yash - I think god created him to bring Ravan alive on screen Infact I will watch Ramayana 10 times just for that first 40 min of Ravana back story Yash makes it too difficult not to fall for Ravana No actor has ever done it for a villain in last 50 years after Amjad Khan in Sholay And whosoever took that decision to give him Sharad Kelkar voice over deserves a hug Ranbir as Rama I donno, but this is best Rama I have seen after NT RAMA RAO (from a Telugu person I don’t think I can praise any more) The scene where Surpanaka (rakul is the best actress in the movie) falls for him makes you feel like real God is on screen This is best Rama ever in Hindi cinema Nitish Tiwari - Hats off to you I never thought anyone can match SS Rajamouli in bringing a world alive on screen and you did it and you did with a story we all know and hence there is no surprise here like in Bahubali Still the movie hooks you on every scene and I watched in Texas where there is no interval break - 3 hour 15 min and I was like can I please please watch part 2 right now I don’t want to go home Namit Malhotra - you deserve every praise and all the respect for bringing the best anyone can give to an Indian epics This is K ASIF moment for Indian cinema Indian cinema has truly arrived in the world and we can proudly say we can also make movies like LoTR or Dune now I have to appreciate AR Rehman and Hans Zimmer for making world class music worthy of such movie I will it 4.9/5 cos I didn’t like Sai Pallavi If there was anyone who could match Ranbir and look like Goddess It would be 10 out of 5 stars 🌟 And last thing - JATAYU is my fav character in the entire movie The last scene between Ravan and Jatayu will go in Indian movie history as one of the greatest action sequences The sheer imagination quality and how well they have shown JATAYU makes you just cry and yearn for him And Ravana Soorpanakha and Jatayu decisions which is very different from anything we have seen in Ramayana are what makes this movie so special and interesting PS - Watch it only on IMAX 3D you will feel like you are seeing real God and Asuras on screen

The people of Bhatkal were so upset that they have made smuggling gold inside rectums a local industry
FYI, the wife of incoming Senator @AbdulElSayed is Dr Sarah Jukaku, whose family traces their roots from the Karnataka town of Bhatkal. For those who know, this otherwise sleepy mostly Muslim fishing town was turned upside down when the RSS and the BJP invaded it in the 1990s and made it the base for their expansion in coastal Karnataka. This brief video provides a very good introduction, youtube.com/watch?v=EPmWBlNR…, but also see the longer series by @jeegujja for @firstpost (firstpost.com/tag/how-coasta…).

Eminent neutral journalist uses USA's Hamid Ansari moment to turn the tables on India, unsurprisingly. Possibly, eminence and neutrality in journalism demand the suspension of all forms of reasoning.
A speech for the ages. India awaits its Abu El-Sayed moment where your religion doesn’t matter, your courage and conviction to build bridges between communities does. youtube.com/watch?v=Btos5P_O…

“In my short film, I revealed the untold truth: micro-minority communities such as barbers, washermen and Upparas are terribly oppressed by SC people. As interim relief, the government should grant these OBC communities an exemption from the PCR Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.” youtu.be/0jUL5u16N3E?si=mCM0…

Ok. Let me put this on record once and for all. You and your lot are supporting judicial corruption because it suits you politically. 1. I’ve been working on this story since February. That’s before your lot decided to give fellatio to cockroaches 2. Cockroaches came into existence to target a sitting CJI and violent regime change (much after my investigation began). If you don’t see an issue with that, but a corrupt judge being investigated, you truly are a rectum. 3. The series is ongoing. More judicial corruption to be exposed 4. Even if you believe that this investigation into Kaul was because of his support to CJP, I really don’t mind. Anyone supporting those who want to create anarchy in my country is my enemy.
Replying to @UnSubtleDesi
As usual very vile, vicious, venomous! Why is @UnSubtleDesi like this? She is a case study in psychology. Without taking your abuse and without using your language, with my civility I again ask you as to why have you picked Justice Kaul specifically and that too at a time when he is defending the @Cockroachisback ? Your target and timing both prove that you are working for the BJP lobby and not for the cause of investigation or journalism.

It's funny how ideological zealots could be abbreviated to "ideots".
A lot of people had been saying for months that the performative cruelty of the Trump Administration would cost him in the Midterms... Every single big MAGA account was yelling "I voted for this" in glee. Well, they aren't laughing now, are they? A lesson in there for the ideological zealots among the Indian RW.
