I got inspired by @AllanWalkerIT to experiment with some #LIDAR data on a #Deckgl point cloud layer with a @Mapbox GL map. I've never worked with .las data before but after some trial and error it came together quite nicely. 👍

The timing between this announcement and the Windows Recall one is hilarious 😂

Say goodbye to security breaches via screenshots👋 Data leak control capabilities in Microsoft Edge for Business now support screenshot prevention policies. Prevent screenshot attempts while using the Edge browser on a desktop! 🌟 msft.it/6013YqP9v

I can't really grasp the naivety that would make you believe that the data in the files uploaded for generating custom GPTs would Not be available to query for 🤷‍♂️ The whole reason anyone uploads a file is for the custom gpt to use the data from it, no?

Oh man -- you can just download the knowledge files (RAG) from GPTs. I don't know if this is a security leak or "just" a prompt engineering? @OpenAI @simonw

Okay, maybe there's no need to make the original/raw file downloadable. But there's no reason the user should not be able to query for information from the files, anything else defeats a large part of the purpose. And then we're only talking security by obscurity anyway.

It's admittedly a viable concern for the marketplace model and a future revshare model. However, if the value of your product truly lies in the raw data you possess, that's probably what you should be monetizing in the first place. Don't expose it through an OpenAI service.

anyway, tech debt is a sacrifice decision: you are sacrificing a lower priority or value goal to achieve a higher priority or value goal. sacrifice decisions are ubiquitous in business.
The #EU surely knows how to design API's 😅 To query one GET endpoint they ask me to use at least three different naming conventions for the mandatory query params In an, according to them, RESTful API with a single "/api" endpoint for a plethora of individual resources 🤪

Who needs AIs like #dalle2 and the alike to generate unheard of compositions? I have plenty of those in my home already, like "isopod riding on the shell of a tiny snail":

Yeah, let me just swap out my Drive storage with IPFS. In the same way I replaced Photoshop with JPG.

These comparisons always make me think of “Linux on the desktop!” hype in 00’s. You can use AbiWord instead of Word! Play lots of great games like TuxRacer! Swap Quicken for GnuCash! See, it has everything!

Software, open source, and community are supposed to be the great equalizers - the very definition of #include<everyone> Things like 'token gating' are, ahem, gatekeeping. It's a private club of apes that you and I will never been able to join. #Exclusion xitter.cf/CaseyNewton/status/150…

"NFT promoter" posts random viral videos without quoting sources or ownership... 🙃 Isn't that a bit ironic?

I know it sounds silly... but the 100% best way that you can support our work on Astro is to throw us a star on GitHub and RT/❤️ this tweet. 👉 github.com/snowpackjs/astro

#ElderJs is and will continue to be am awesome framework but I decided to swap it out for #AstroJS in a side project for a couple of reasons (mainly local dev experience and curiosity). And oh boy, it has been a smooth ride so far! Will be an interesting project to follow.

Having shifted a bit between frameworks I love that I'm able to use it both for both Svelte, Vue and React as well. Probably not the main selling point for most projects, but it's a feature that brings comfort for sure 😄
