Why is nobody in Britain talking about the Irish Prime Minister openly reminding Sinn Féin on live TV that their movement collaborated with Adolf Hitler just to spite the UK? Taoiseach Micheál Martin just destroyed Sinn Féin's pious lectures on neutrality in sixty seconds. Here is the reality every British citizen needs to know 🧵

"The background to the current crisis is that Sinn Féin and the DUP are losing electoral support. Both badly needed Drumcree. "They want Stormont collapsed to distance themselves from its toxic image before next year’s election – but each wants to blame the other its collapse." Read Patrick Murphy: tinyurl.com/4s9xszws

Their peace was never compromised. Thirty-five individuals marching silently for no more than fifteen minutes at 08:00 am on a Sunday morning did not threaten anyone's peace. This is a politically motivated crisis
"I urge the Orange Order to do what's right..." Sinn Féin's Catherine Nelson has urged the Orange order to accept a resolution and allow residents on the Garvaghy Road to "live in peace, as they deserve". 🎥 Dylan Hegarty

The hatred shown by people like Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O'Neill and their mob towards Orange neightbours, the sickening venom against Jews, and the insane toleration of Islamism has exhausted my small remaining store of charity for the racism and sectarianism that is now rampant in my native country. I don't understand what Sinn Fein and Mary Lou McDonalds problem with the march on Garvaghy road is In 2024 she made it perfectly clear that in democratic societies we let people "Express their views and nobody gets a veto on who is in their community and you can't say no" What's the problem now?

What needs to happen now 1. OO need to head home and take the high ground 2. Gavin Robinson needs to pull the DUP out of the Executive 3. No return until the rule of law is respected I was not in favour of any of this, but if the rule of law (whatever your view on the decision) cannot be respected by politicians then we have nothing to share

The moment Alastair Campbell breaks down and can barely breathe under questioning on Iraq. I’ve watched Alastair Campbell for years. The ultimate tough spin doctor. I’ve seen him rattled before — furious, arguing, on the attack — but this is different. I’ve never seen him like this. It’s surreal. February 2010, The Andrew Marr Show. Marr presses him hard on Iraq: “If beyond doubt was not established in the intelligence… does it then follow – yes or no – that the Prime Minister misled parliament?” Campbell: “The Prime Minister didn’t mislead parliament.” Marr again: “Even if the intelligence… does not confirm that assertion that it was beyond reasonable doubt?” And then it happens. Campbell stops. Completely. He can barely breathe. Looks away. Struggles for air. Long, painful silence. “Yes because… Look, as I said… I mean forgive me for this.” I’ve never seen him fazed like this. He finally continues, still visibly shaken, then has the shameless nerve to lecture about “truth”: “I don’t think people are interested in the truth anymore, Andrew. I think you’re all interested in settling your scores and setting your own agenda.” Marr then brings up the hundreds of thousands of dead. Campbell’s response? Double down that Blair was a “totally honourable man” who never misled anyone. The same man who helped sell the war sits there falling apart on live television… then has the gall to accuse everyone else of not caring about the truth.

You couldn't make it up. Shinners didn't understand the Dáil business in Irish, so they voted against their own amendment. Dopes.

Well #Newsnight reached an all time low tonight. No attempt at balance at all. 3 smug politicians in the studio all trotting out tropes about Trump, @Nigel_Farage and @elonmusk and of course blaming "The Far Right" for people's anger. Not the refugee from Sudan.... for whom there seemed to be some sympathy! What contempt they, and @BBCNews, have for the British people.

The son of convicted terrorist Marwan Barghouti spoke at the recent Sinn Féin conference in Belfast. To rapturous applause. The attempt to whitewash his ordering the brutal killing of five civilians is truly abhorrent. Shame on @sinnfeinireland
