brief summary - crowdstrike is enterprise grade cybersecurity that runs on a lot of machines at companies you use daily all of those machines hit bluescreens and bootloops about 2 hours ago and they all require MANUAL INTERVENTION to fix this is, to put it mildly, catastrophic. so please have patience with us and also every other major company worldwide - things are going to broken for a little bit while sysadmins and IT teams work overtime all weekend to right ships so far it looks like hearthstone is still running without incident (our servers are linux-based), but there are many other systems that will need some work to bring back up - plus, a lot of ISPs are impacted, so there may be challenges reaching the game based on which service you use be patient and please be extremely nice to everyone in IT today

Two of my most visited subreddits are r/BobsTavern and r/relationships, so I appreciate that Duos is creating a category of posts that could go in either 😂

Support System isn't based off of any particular story, just an image you might be familiar with. But what are the children's stories of this generation, if not memes? Artist: Joseph Weston (14/15)

And finally, the best boi. He's sitting on a bench in a train station, waiting for his human. The setting is of course inspired by Hachiko the loyal dog. The breed is completely incidental and not at all because we have a small senior Maltese at home. Artist: Ivan Fomin (15/15)

This one is based on the fairytale, The Princess Who Never Smiled. She has my favorite voiceline in the set: "I am deeply unimpressed". Artist: Valeria Styajkina (12/15)

Marine Matriarch is very loosely inspired by Shuimu, the Old Mother of Water. In Chinese folklore, she's a water demon who sent floods to submerge an ancient city. Our BG version is an Elemental, not a Demon. And she just likes to hang out with fish. Artist: Todd Harris (13/15)

People have already asked if the name turns into "Golden Goose" if you triple it. Unfortunately, no - we can't just go loosey goosey with our naming conventions. Artist: Marta Vives Poch (11/15)

Acdg to goblin folklore in WoW, The Uninvited Guest is an invisible parasitic monster that feeds on the thoughts of the greedy. Thus far, it's only been depicted as a shadow on the wall, so it's cool to see the Hearthstone spin on it! Artist: Todd Harris (10/15)

It's got the green body and red head to match The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I know "Winterfinner" isn't a real word, but it just makes the syllables match so nicely. Artist: Vika Yarova (8/15)

Grave Narrator doesn't call out any particular story, but is more of the storyteller himself. For me it's giving Lola Basyang, if she were evil and Undead. Artist: Alex Horley (9/15)

Basically just the Giving Tree's alternate universe evil counterpart. Maybe missed an opportunity to put a mustache on it? Artist: Valeria Styajkina (6/15)

The Ugly Duckling, but we had too many Beasts so it's a Dragon. The piece is nowhere near ugly, hence the name was changed to Misfit. Artist: Inès "Ourka" Rotzinger (7/15)

Crafty Aranasi is loosely based off of Anansi the Spider God and Odenkyem the Crocodile. Aranasi are arachnid demons so this was a nice fit! Artist: Ivan Fomin (5/15)

Eyes of the Earth Mother is a short story WoW lore. It's basically the creation story of Tauren mythology. Inside her eyes are her twin children, the Sun and Moon. (Maybe WoW players already knew that, but I certainly didn't - pretty neat!) Artist: Vika Yarova (3/15)

This microbot is pulling the plug out the socket like Arthur pulling the Excalibur out of the stone. @LoewenMitchell kindly suggested the voiceline of "Supreme, executive power!" Artist: Ivan Fomin (4/15)

Since Duos is out tomorrow, here's a 🧵of my favorite art from the patch! The theme is folktales and children's stories - we took inspiration from all over the world (including stories that members of Team 5 grew up with!) and WoW lore. Artist: Kati Singhasaneh (1/15)

This birb was based off Ibong Adarna, an epic poem about a magical bird that I and nearly every Filipino kid had to study in school. If it poops on you, you turn to stone! Fortunately, the BG version just gives buffs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibong_… Arist: Monika Palosz (2/15)
