Why people should discern the SOURCE of their news.
Was watching a Trump voters focus group in Florida where one participant told another about the Hope Florida scandal, and people in the group reacted with shock. "Why didn't that get more press and why isn’t anyone facing charges?!" was one reaction. Why people should read news.

An 18-year veteran of the US Department of the Interior has resigned in protest from the sprawling federal agency, denouncing “a deeply troubling assault on the rule of the law” that took place at the department under Donald Trump. New 🧵: You may recall that Republican leaders in Tallahassee spent $80 million of taxpayer money last year to buy 4 acres of land from a big GOP donor. Well, now top Florida Republicans — including James Uthmeier and Byron Donalds — are raising money from that same donor...

Good new reporting here on the Hope #Florida paper trail - as a reminder, $10 million of our tax $$ was swiped from sick, poor children and diverted by Gov. administration to right-wing political campaigns.

Ten days ago, the Florida Senate threatened reporters with criminal charges to bury a report you paid for. Today, those reporters published it anyway. Now you can see what they were hiding. Insurance companies claiming losses while sending millions in profit to affiliated companies out of state. One insurer reported a 9 million dollar loss while its affiliates earned 176 million. They cry poverty to raise your rates, and the state helped them hide it. I served on the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee. I saw exactly how they operate. As your CFO, I will use the audit authority of this office to keep dragging this into the light. Read it yourself, then ask why they fought so hard to keep it from you. orlandosentinel.com/2026/09/… – Annette
