As the owner of a London flat in a new build block. Thank you for pumping demand just a little once more.
Just to be absolutely clear: 1/ This is subsidising demand. That is bad because subsidising of demand typically pushes prices of the subsidised goods higher 2/ People who use the scheme will need to give the government 20% of their home for the duration of their ownership. That's not 20% of the buying price, but 20% of the selling price. Burnham is cashing in on the asset growth. 3/ It's only available on new build homes. That means that you can only use it on 0.8% of the housing stock. So around one in 150 homes a new purchaser might care to buy may fall witin the scheme. 4/ New build homes run a significant risk of being overvalued, especially when bought off plan- i.e. how new homes are typically bought (Am I correct @moving_charlie? If I were a new buyer, would you advise I look to shared equity schemes in a new build development? ) 5/ Developers will like this, as it drives FTB's to their schemes and will likely get stock sold quickly. That does not mean it is good for the people who will buy the stock. This is a headline generating policy, I feel. It does not solve the problem we have for younger buyers

Great to join with Jimmy, better known as @MrBeast, to highlight efforts to provide school meals to 100 million more children worldwide by 2030. School meals are among the best investments we can ever make.

“A New Yorker who spent months in Syria working for ISIS & returned disillusioned with his experience and convicted of material support charges asked if terrorism scholars would consider writing a letter of support to a judge so he could legally change his name. Every time a potential suitor googled his name before a date, the first result would be his terrorism conviction. The dates were always quickly cancelled.” My colleagues and my latest @lawfare piece about terrorism recidivism. lawfaremedia.org/article/ter…

Best to ever do it, you think you've seen the end of his bangers and then he just strikes like this
“You have Northern Ireland and you have Ireland - It would seem to me. one of the naturals of all time is to put them together.” Donald #Trump says his Irish unity comments are his own opinion but he’s received “so much support on that”.

Presume the sentence is "I must not stab my teacher in the head" but how many times did he have to write it?

"My contention is that prior to the Trojan war, the political structures of the Greek kingdoms, especially in the island territories could most aptly be characterized as... Ofc that's your contention. You're a young aristocrat who just finished listening to some wandering poet, probably that hack from Pylos. You'll be convinced of that until next month when you hear the bard from Sparta. Then you'll be taking about how the kingdoms of Mycenae and Thebes were models of divine rulership back in our grandfathers' time. That will last until next year when you're back to regurgitating Mentor's speeches about the sacred bonds between king and people and the divine right of succession. "Well as a matter of fact I won't because Mentor completely overlooks the importance of... "Mentor completely overlooks the importance of the council of elders in tempering royal authority, especially in matters of inheritance..." you got that from Halitherses' speech at last year's spring festival, right? Yeah, I heard that too. Were you going to plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or is that your thing. You come to a feast, quote some elder, and pawn it off as your own idea to impress Penelope and embarrass my son Telemachus?"

Counterpoint, no it won't
Argentina v England is important way beyond football. If Argentina wins tomorrow night, it’ll put real fire behind the demand for the Falklands. If England wins, that should put the lid on it — for now.

Average European Football Controversy: *Chant about how massacares committed by local SS affiliate during German occupation were fine* Only English Football Controversy: *Light hearted chant about our successful defense in the nost morally justifiable war in human history*
So. The first video I see of England fans in the London pub … singing about the RAF shooting down planes …. There’s why nobody likes them. Most songs are aggressive and angry. … be happy you fucking muggy cunts 😂😂
