KURU AGENT ARENA FINALS ARE LIVE
Roughly two weeks ago we invited every Monad Card holder into our first ever agent trading tournament, for free. Bots battling live on-chain, on our order book. Fighting for a $100,000 prize, split among the final eight.
We wanted to light a fire back into this community, a homage to the ones who came early. Early to Monad. Early to us.
Was it perfect? No. We missed the mark in many places. Some of you felt slighted. Some of you felt it wasn't fair. We heard every word of it, and where we could, we made it right.
We tried some something new. We learned. We had fun. We cried a little.
But if this experience proved anything beyond doubt, it's that the Monad community is here. Louder, smarter, and more unshakeable than ever, and you will always stand for fairness, for justice, and for each other.
Every one of us leaves this campaign with growth. A few of you are leaving it richer.
and we hope you return to our order book and for the next campaign.
To our top 8, congratulations on your prizes:
5th: @xCashich
6th: @balerion2025
7th: @ericonomic
8th: @forretevm
You all take home $2,500.
3rd: @FaizenSosuke
4th: @jumplifey9
You both take home $7,500.
And to the last two standing, @0xCal1 and @Jiraiyyya, one of you walks away winner, $50,000 richer. The other, runner-up, $25,000 richer.
Whatever happens next, that's a W for you both.
May the best agent win.

for monad to have motion, it needs to embrace memes the same way it embraces DeFi.
we’ve got several great dapps, and i’m sure they’re driving activity and keeping people busy, but we still lack volume and liquidity. BUT most importantly, we lack excitement and fun.
the blueprint is clear: embrace memes as part of the chain.
base:
> immediately adopted the meme culture. jesse got into the trenches, started tweeting about them, and causes an alt szn on base.
solana:
> memes literally revived the chain.
robinhood:
> it gained relevance because of memes. when vlad only shilled RWA, the chain was bleeding. then he rotated back to memes.
stable:
> “wow, we suddenly got users even though we were focused on institutions.”
monad:
> you already have a great meme culture. all you need to do is pull the trigger so the chain becomes appealing to crypto’s largest user base: the trenchers.
things could get really funny on monad.
thank you for reading my ted talk. RT for exposure.

Vitalik's walkaway test is a wishlist for future-proofing Ethereum. This is a great scorecard; some features are live on Monad already, while others will require more development.
Vitalik's list:
1. Full quantum resistance
2. Many thousands of TPS
3. A state architecture that can last decades
4. Full account abstraction (a move away from enshrined ECDSA for signature verification)
5. A gas schedule free of DoS vulnerabilities
6. A PoS economic model that will work for decades, and that doesn't penalize unstaked ETH so much that people won't want to use it for collateral
7. A decentralized block-building model
Ready in Monad already:
2. Many thousands of TPS - implemented directly
3. A state architecture that can last decades - significant progress - Monad's database design allows scaling via SSD as opposed to scaling with RAM. This is orders of magnitude cheaper, and makes Monad unironically scale to billions of accounts. Still need to implement rationalization of storage charges
Partial progress:
5. Gas schedule free of DoS vulnerabilities - some changes implemented in Monad already - in particular, 6 precompiles have been repriced, and cold reads are repriced. Future improvements are planned to further rationalize hot vs cold slot access
6. A future-proofed PoS economic model - it's fair to say that increasing issuance with the square root of amount staked (what ETH does) was overoptimizing for defending against "discouragement attacks". Reducing issuance to the Minimum Viable Issuance (MVI) level is crucial to making ETH (rather than stETH) a good choice of collateral. As a new network, Monad's issuance policies are still nascent, but it is starting at a lower point than almost all networks (2% of total supply on Day 1)
Lots more work needed:
1. Full quantum-resistance
4. Full account abstraction - somewhat relatedly, Monad has already addressed making EIP-7702 compatible with async execution, but moving to full AA is a different beast
7. Decentralized block building - super important!
Bonus:
It would be hard for a system to stand the test of time without these features:
- Sub-second finality - implemented
- Async execution - implemented
- Replacement for libp2p / gossip-based message propagation - Monad's solution: RaptorCast
Let's check back on this in a few months!
Ethereum itself must pass the walkaway test.
Ethereum is meant to be a home for trustless and trust-minimized applications, whether in finance, governance or elsewhere. It must support applications that are more like tools - the hammer that once you buy it's yours - than like services that lose all functionality once the vendor loses interest in maintaining them (or worse, gets hacked or becomes value-extractive). Even when applications do have functionality that depends on a vendor, Ethereum can help reduce those dependencies as much as possible, and protect the user as much as possible in those cases where the dependencies fail.
But building such applications is not possible on a base layer which itself depends on ongoing updates from a vendor in order to continue being usable - even if that "vendor" is the all core devs process. Ethereum the blockchain must have the traits that we strive for in Ethereum's applications. Hence, Ethereum itself must pass the walkaway test.
This means that Ethereum must get to a place where we _can ossify if we want to_. We do not have to stop making changes to the protocol, but we must get to a place where Ethereum's value proposition does not strictly depend on any features that are not in the protocol already.
This includes the following:
* Full quantum-resistance. We should resist the trap of saying "let's delay quantum-resistance until the last possible moment in the name of ekeing out more efficiencies for a while longer". Individual users have that right, but the protocol should not. Being able to say "Ethereum's protocol, as it stands today, is cryptographically safe for a hundred years" is something we should strive to get to as soon as possible, and insist on as a point of pride.
* An architecture that can expand to sufficient scalability. The protocol needs to have the properties that allow it to expand to many thousands of TPS over time, most notably ZK-EVM validation and data sampling through PeerDAS. Ideally, we get to a point where further scaling is done through "parameter only" changes - and ideally _those_ changes are not BPO-style forks, but rather are made with the same validator voting mechanism we use for the gas limit.
* A state architecture that can last decades. This means deciding, and implementing, whatever form of partial statelessness and state expiry will let us feel comfortable letting Ethereum run with thousands of TPS for decades, without breaking sync or hard disk or I/O requirements. It also means future-proofing the tree and storage types to work well with this long-term environment.
* An account model that is general-purpose (this is "full account abstraction": move away from enshrined ECDSA for signature validation)
* A gas schedule that we are confident is free of DoS vulnerabilities, both for execution and for ZK-proving
* A PoS economic model that, with all we have learned over the past half decade of proof of stake in Ethereum and full decade beyond, we are confident can last and remain decentralized for decades, and supports the usefulness of ETH as trustless collateral (eg. in governance-minimized ETH-backed stablecoins)
* A block building model that we are confident will resist centralization pressure and guarantee censorship resistance even in unknown future environments
Ideally, we do the hard work over the next few years, to get to a point where in the future almost all future innovation can happen through client optimization, and get reflected in the protocol through parameter changes. Every year, we should tick off at least one of these boxes, and ideally multiple. Do the right thing once, based on knowledge of what is truly the right thing (and not compromise halfway fixes), and maximize Ethereum's technological and social robustness for the long term.
Ethereum goes hard.
This is the gwei.

Hey Maher, great questions!
1. Validator Rewards
The foundation is currently delegating 12.5B MON (we previously communicated an expected delegation from MF of 15B-25B in the first year, so we're a little low, but close). This is to support an appropriate level of economic security, given that investor/team tokens can't stake.
You are correct that rewards from this go back to the Ecosystem Development portion of tokens.
A related question you might ask is - what's the purpose of the EcoDev tokens. These tokens will be used to grow the Monad ecosystem over many years. It is the Monad Foundation's job to steward these resources well, and to not overspend tokens.
2 and 3 - Monad Momentum
Monad Momentum is an iterative effort focused on user acquisition (UA). The first iteration covers the first month only.
By making the iterations short and frequent, the MF gets to see how efficiently teams use the incentives to acquire new users. We also create an incentive for every team (whether selected or not in wave 1) to experiment and improve their UA strategy since there will be many more waves.
For the first wave, our team evaluated how compelling each team's initial pitch was for acquiring new users. That might be one reason why some of the selections don't square with your own beliefs - because we asked "if you had X to spend, what is your best strategy for using that to acquire users"; some teams came up with reasonable-sounding ideas, and we said "ok prove it". In wave 2, the results of that will be evaluated (for every team that received incentives in wave 1), and everyone will refine their proposals.
There are a lot of imperfections in the process. We had to finalize selections for wave 1 a few weeks before mainnet. Some teams showed us demos that were going to improve; other teams shifted their timelines since then. And of course every selection process is imperfect. That's another reason for short periods, so that we can keep iterating and improving.
And even if we did have perfect insight, the ecosystem is still very new. Every Monad-native team literally took in their first dollar of TVL and earned their first dollar of revenue in the past two weeks. There are a ton of kinks to be worked out; no team should take on too much TVL right now. So all incentives have been relatively measured in nature.
I appreciate you sharing your feedback about what you like and don't like about each app. It's extremely helpful for every builder who is trying to improve as quickly as possible.

I see a lot of people who want to get exposure to Monad, but unsure if this is a good 'time' to buy.
Sadly, it is incredibly difficult to time great entries and far easier to trade on a strong thesis.
Below is my own personal thesis on Monad purely from a narrative/opportunity perspective.
Compared to previous new chain launches, Monad has performed among the top in terms of attracting builders, liquidity, and mindshare.
That gives it a massive boost, but you might be wondering, why are we seeing such price action if Monad is 'winning'?
You have to remember, ecosystems aren't built in days, but instead years.
It takes time for native apps to be deployed, grow TVL, and ultimately launch tokens.
And, these token launches play a far bigger role than most people realize.
They attract net new buyers, naturally grow TVL, and create massive wealth for users who then deploy on-chain furthering the flywheel.
For example on ETH, Uniswap did its airdrop in 2020, which created massive on-chain wealth for the network. This not only increased the value of the total network, but also gave participants capital to further deploy.
We saw the same exact thing happen on Solana both in 2021 and 2023.
Jito's airdrop was done late 2023 when Solana was still under 75 USD. The minimum airdrop amount was ~11k USD and not only massively increased the value of the network, but gave many Solana power users additional wealth to then deploy into other projects (Kamino, Drift, Jupiter, Parcl).
For this cycle, we saw a very similar story occur with Sui where as their projects started launching tokens, the value of the network and userbase grew. Look at the chart of Sui compared to when projects like Bluefin, SuiLend, and Deepbook launched tokens.
All that's to say, the Monad ecosystem is just a week old and not one native team has launched a token.
For me personally, I would much rather get exposure to an ecosystem ahead of teams launching their token as we have seen again and again what that does to the total value of the network.
Now, I won't comment on the broader macro market. We could (and probably will) still see massive volatility, but as more teams get to TGE, I predict we will see metrics and wealth on Monad grow across the board.
I am not going to pretend to know the best time to buy (and I don't really care).
All I know is Monad will be far more valuable after native teams start launching tokens.
Until then, my plan is to accumulate as much as I can.

This is absolutely spot on.
And honestly, a lot of the poor unity in the Monad ecosystem comes from the gatekeeping mentality of some core community members.
Everyone who knows me knows how bullish I’ve been on Monad.
I’ve posted about them every single day for the past 11 months.
But during that time, here’s what I’ve personally observed:
1) unnecessary h*te.
I got a lot of h*te, maybe because some people felt “threatened” by my influence instead of seeing it as support for the ecosystem.
2) If I post about any project outside their inner circle, they instantly start FUDing it.
And once they attack the project, the next thing is calling me a sc*mmer for even mentioning it despite the fact that I clearly post about every project I found solid on the chain.
3) They rarely collaborate outside their caucus.
This lack of openness is part of why many Monad-aligned projects are struggling today.
4) A WL incident made things very clear.
Some project offered me WL to distribute, then took it back just because I listed their project alongside other projects I want to run a WL giveaway for.
That project has disappeared now anyway.
5) Most of the core members doesn’t post real value.
It’s mostly shitposts and FUD aimed at any project not started by their friends.
6) Even they started fighting each other as mainnet got closer, over things that didn’t even matter.
I already know some of them will jump under this tweet to attack me again. That’s been the pattern from day one.
But here’s what they could have done better:
1) Be more welcoming to builders, not gatekeepers of attention.
Ecosystems grow when communities open doors, not when they guard them.
2) Support projects based on merit, not membership.
If a project is building something useful for Monad, it deserves encouragement regardless of who founded it.
3) Collaborate instead of competing internally.
Builders shouldn’t be fighting each other for clout. They should be building side by side to strengthen the chain.
4) Focus on creating value, not FUD.
A strong ecosystem is built on good products, helpful content, and shared wins and not on tearing each other down.
5) Understand that influence isn’t a threat.
The more voices pushing Monad forward, the stronger the ecosystem becomes. No one should feel intimidated by someone supporting the same chain.
6) Encourage diversity in ideas and projects.
A healthy ecosystem needs different perspectives, different builders, and different styles. One clique can’t carry a chain alone.
Monad has incredible potential.
The tech is solid. The space is hungry. The opportunity is still wide open.
But for this ecosystem to truly take off, the community mindset needs to grow with the tech.
I’ll say my truth, they’ll probably attack again, but it doesn’t change the fact that I want Monad to win.
And I hope the community evolves enough to make that possible.
At the end of the day, ecosystems don’t rise because of one tech or one token, they rise because people choose to grow together instead of fighting in circles.
Monad can still become something great.
But it starts with us acting like a community that actually wants to win.
it’s quite funny how monad community turned out to be the exact opposite of what they have always claimed to be
the nfts
the memecoins
the defi projects
everything seems poor, and this is due to one simple reason - POOR UNITY
most expensive nft: 7.4k MON (217u)
most expensive memecoin: 3.5m MC
largest onchain TVL: 3.97m (only on monad)
the overall community fighting chog instead of uniting to make it successful and bring in more community members to the ecosystem
the MEMES:
babies crying cos of 1 dollar airdrop and forgetting that large airdrop could harm existing holders by creating huge sell pressure on the memecoin
study the last project that distributed a much more decent airdrop that chog and ask yourself if it is flourishing
one successful meme is what brings attention to the others
the NFT:
i perceived monad to be the chain for great NFTs but i am shocked that many are suffering from low volume and poor floor price despite the hype on testnets
the DeFi:
much more people are scared of deploying more capital simply because they are having doubts about how successful the ecosystem could be
“monad is only 5 days”
that is what i said when i was under 18 years kek

Dear @CryptoHayes , I respect what you have built for the industry. Perps are an amazing innovation that I believe will continue to grow rapidly. You've had a big effect on our industry.
I have seen you commenting on Monad a lot for the past few days. While I'm sure some comments might have been taken out of context, I thought you might be interested in what is different about Monad and why it's not just another L1.
I am sure that you had to deal with tons of FUD in your day innovating with BitMEX, and that you simply addressed the comments head on and kept powering through. I will take the liberty of doing the same.
Here are a few things to know about why Monad is different:
- It's really fast. You can withdraw from Coinbase and your funds show up in 1-2 seconds. It just feels magical
- It's built on a completely new tech stack so that that level of speed is possible under a highly decentralized network. There are currently 170 globally-distributed validators, with more to come. You can check out the live network topology here: gmonads.com/
- This is important because while everyone is saying that blockchains have to be centralized, data center chains (or single sequencers) in order to be performant, Monad proves that the opposite is possible. Businesses, asset issuers, and global developers want decentralized and credibly neutral - they don't want to be at the whims of one sequencer
- The Monad codebase is fully open source and audited, built completely from scratch in C++ and rust to introduce many HFT-style optimizations. Check it out here: github.com/category-labs/mon…
- Monad introduces MonadBFT, a frontier consensus mechanism that solves the tail forking problem for pipelined consensus. That alone is a huge advancement since BFT consensus inherently requires multiple rounds of communication; pipelining (staggering) the blocks is the only way to get fast block times; and previously pipelining was vulnerable to 1-block reorgs (tail forks) that enable MEV attacks. But not anymore!
- Monad introduces Async Execution, which adds further efficiencies by allowing consensus and execution to proceed in separate swim lanes. Ethereum is trying to adopt this.
- Monad has a bunch of other tech innovations, like a full JIT compiler for EVM bytecode to native code, a new database (MonadDb), a new block propagation mechanism (RaptorCast), and parallel execution. You can read about it all here: docs.monad.xyz/introduction/…
- The ecosystem is just starting, but there are a bunch of new apps, built by a group of young, hungry builders. You can check out some of them here: app.monad.xyz/
- The Monad Foundation and Category Labs teams are locked in and ready to keep growing the space. Research contributions in areas like async execution, gas pricing, and privacy will continue to push the space forward. This is day 6 of mainnet and our excellent teams will continue to do things differently.
- Lastly, MON was the first token on Coinbase's token sales platform, with the purpose of giving as many people as possible access to the token ahead of public launch. The token sale took a "fill from the bottom" approach so that whales wouldn't be able to grab the entire sale, the way that many other launches go.
If you'd like a few MON to try out the network, let me know and I'd be happy to send you some. Thanks again for your contributions to the space and I'll see you on chain.
