2) Role was clearly defined. Resource nurse supported regular staff & did not take a patient assignment. Benefits: hospital only pays for hours as determined by acuity/staffing, expertise in kept on the unit, flexibility, & no pricey orientation required #ANursesVoice
1) With a recent milestone bday🍿this topic has been on my mind. In response to short staffing, a local community hospital maternity unit created a "resource nurse" role where recently retired RNs were hired per diem to assist the regular staff #ANursesVoice
