Taiwan makes over 90% of the world's most advanced semiconductors. Lin's pitch: pair that with Europe's strength in machinery, automotive engineering, and industrial design, same model that helped build Silicon Valley. This isn't theoretical either. TSMC is already investing in German chipmaking. GlobalWafers is in Italy. Foxconn is building advanced packaging in France. And Taiwan just signed a two-year chip technology partnership with a Polish research institute, plus plans for an entire tech park near Wrocław focused on EVs, AI data centers, and smart cities. This came right before EU leaders meet in Brussels to discuss reducing dependence on China. Lin has now made this same pitch across Europe multiple times over the past year, building toward a real alternative supply chain, not just a warning.
