I didn't have a slimy move from @Life360 on my bingo card today. Today was my 10th renewal year on a grandfathered plan. They didn't renew it. Instead, they expired the plan, sent me an in-app notification that it expired then told me to the renewal again - at 3x the old price.
I understand @jcpenney protecting its contractual rights.
But when its long-term leases are a major obstacle to redevelopment across the US, is lease leverage worth the reputational cost of being seen as the company blocking community revitalization?

The answer from the @Enterprise social media team regarding a dispute with their damage recovery team is to provide an email address for their damage recovery team.
The rental car industry in the US is basically a bunch of companies where some aren't quite as bad as others.

Remember: take photos and videos at pickup and dropoff every time you rent a car.
It's the only protection you have against bogus claims of damage that was actually pre-existing.
It's sad to see @Enterprise now playing this game. I thought they were better than Sixt and Hertz.
Instead of making airline passengers accept this risk from poorly made power banks, why doesn't @USCPSC require power banks sold in the U.S. to meet the relevant UL safety standard instead of fecklessly relying on voluntary compliance?
I'll pay another $10 for a power bank.
A KLM flight from Amsterdam to Curaçao was forced to turn around over the Atlantic on Thursday after a power bank fire.
The power bank was being used by KLM´s former CEO and President, Mr. Camiel Eurlings, who was injured in the incident.
"According to a passenger who was sitting close to Eurlings and saw everything happen, the power bank was charging at the moment things went wrong . Power banks are allowed on board KLM flights, but it is not permitted to use or charge them on board."
Incident occurred on a flight from Amsterdam to Curacao. (Flight KL735 operated by a B-777 - Registation "PH-BVP"]

If you're making an automotive navigation app decision based on the politics of the name of a lake, you might need to touch grass.
What TomTom is doing with their Orbis Maps navigation app is seriously impressive.
They correctly opened this long term closure yesterday. The new roundabout is already drawn and pending. This is a small 6000 person town.
Google Maps is behind reality - very typical lately.
Today crystallized it: I’m done with legacy auto brands.
5 HOURS (so far) at a @Ford @LincolnMotorCo dealer for ONE software recall update—on a vehicle with Android Automotive and OTA capability.
That's an automaker that still can't get software right.
Rivian deposit made.
Two months on the market and @Rivian has already delivered more meaningful feature updates OTA to the R2—not just bug fixes—than my @LincolnMotorCo Nautilus has received in two years.
That software gap is a chasm—and legacy automakers should be frightened. @Ford @jimfarley98
AnthropicAI Opus as a human: The best worker you've ever seen.
For 30 minutes.
Then he'd decide it's time for a 4 hour nap in his office.
A few times a week, after nap time, when he's ready to give you another superb 30 minutes, his office door breaks and he can't get out.
What would attract me to Lyft as a corporate traveler is a guaranteed trip reservation - not a reservation to throw my ride request out there to drivers a day or so before the trip. I want a real, reserved ride with consequences if I or the driver cancel it. @davidrisher
As Lyft tries to climb out of Uber’s shadow, the company now is going after the corporate travel market.

<2 hours left on my 16 hr flight. @united and @AirCanada can't decide if my flight will arrive late at 06:02, 06:11, 06:40 or 06:55.
There's even a 29 minute difference between Air Canada's app and their inflight screen.
How can providing an accurate arrival time be this hard?
This is a pace of Android Automotive innovation that Lincoln is not yet matching. The expansion of @LincolnMotorCo's Android Automotive user experience has been stale so far. It works but there's been very little new since 2024. @jimfarley98
Volvo and Polestar roll out Google Gemini AI, bringing natural voice control to cars and putting Tesla’s in-car assistant tech under serious pressure. autoblog.com/news/volvo-and-…
The @what3words premium subscription was getting more compelling with each addition. I was actually close to subscribing. But now that they have paywalled features that have always been free—I'm out. Weak move, what3words. Really weak.
FYI @TomTom the last three versions of the TomTom App have been unusable on the latest Android 16 due to graphical problems.
It takes 15 seconds to ask ChatGPT to 'make this professional.' And it's free! This local service business didn't do that, sent this defensive mess of an email instead and lost a customer forever.
AI can be a company's emotional intelligence insurance policy. Far too few use it.
The @Google navigation apps are a mess. Not only do @googlemaps and @waze not agree on these closures - they are both wrong! In the case of Waze, they are incorrectly shutting down a freeway in both directions.
Relying on crowdsourcing is not good enough anymore.
Hey @Disney since your @DisneyPlus streaming service isn't getting the job done, I'm sure @YouTubeTV could help viewers watch your @ABC content.
It's hard to overstate how good @TomTom is at traffic. A street festival closed a local street in a small 6000 person rural town and TomTom nailed the closure.
Meanwhile, not only did Google Maps not pick up the closure, they're inexplicably showing green flow on a closed road.
Dang. Disappointed but not surprised to learn that, despite adopting Android Automotive, @Ford @LincolnMotorCo is going to strand customers in current software versions without an upgrade path. How is Ford still so bad at software @jimfarley98?
