A note to Dem politicians and campaigns: You won't persuade voters with a one-off appearance on a popular podcast the week before the election (which is not a knock on Harris' campaign; she only had a couple months so they did all they could). The reason Republicans are winning over so many young people is because the right invests hours and hours, everyday, every month, every year in audience-building among its influencer class. We can't compete by sticking our candidates on an episode one time in October of an election year. Democrats need to embrace YEAR-ROUND progressive media (either directly political or political-adjacent) if we want to compete. But you cannot only remember independent media outlets exist 2 weeks before an election-- not in a media environment where the vast majority of Americans (and practically ALL persuadable Americans) are consuming content on alternative outlets.

I’m going to scream when Trump takes credit for low inflation rates in February 2025.
He’s right and Dems should never shut up about it

Maybe we need a sociopath on our side idk.
Don’t know who needs to see this, but here is a reminder of how good Gavin Newsom is & how he eats Republicans alive.

The fact that all of our Dem messaging apparatus is scrapped the day after the election while Ben Shapiro and Andrew Tate, Rogan and such do year long propoganda is part of our losing battle. No one changes their views from someone they found 2 month before the election

Hm maybe Democrats could walk some picket lines, funnel a ton of money into infrastructure, put some aggressive antitrust regulators into the FTC, oversee tight labor markets and income growth concentrated in the bottom quartiles, that should fix it.
NEW: Trump didn’t win Pennsylvania. Harris lost it. The consensus from voters and organizers I talked to this week is clear: Democrats have abandoned working class voters and I t’s costing them their political lives. “It's class war.” interc.pt/4emmpRj

I live in WV and the state has been showered with funding and there are factories popping up everywhere and the state has 1b surplus and dems defended pensions and black lung funding and they voted 70% for Trump so shut the fuck up

This is 100% it, and it leads to the followup question “Why was Biden so unpopular when a lot of fundamentals were quite strong?” And the answer is INFORMATION ENVIRONMENT
My initial take on Trump's win: goodauthority.org/news/where… His gains were widespread, so explanations should start with the broadest factors -- not with bespoke stories about states, cities, counties, and groups. The simplest explanation: party of unpopular incumbent loses. 1/2

Buttigieg should take over the DNC. His job there is fundraising (he can do that better than most any other Democrat). Recruitment: his job at DOT got him to know a lot of far down ballot Dems. Messaging: maybe the only Dem not afraid to do a “go everywhere” media strategy
NEWS: Sources tell me that @harrisonjaime is not expected to seek reelection as DNC chair when the party holds a leadership vote early next year. He signaled that before Tuesday’s disappointment.

The takeaway isn’t that we should be more left or right. It’s that no policy actually matters. Trump and republicans have legit no consistent policy views. All that matters is how much you can brainwash people.

Florida is literally going to sink into the ocean, so at least we can look forward to that.

It’s all propaganda. Our brains are built for two things: getting that dopamine and tribalism. We lost because media and the internet is perfectly built to keep pushing these to the stupidest extremes. We either fight with it or we lose forever.
Western progressives need to get good at occupying viral content slop spaces. The 18-29 demographic is not sitting their ass in front of the TV to watch the nightly news, they're watching a dozen "epic podcast bro destroys woke onlyfans feminists" YouTube shorts before bed.

I get the urge to be angry, but it's probably worth noting that Biden literally walked a picket line and bent over backwards to rescue pensions for unions like Teamsters. It did not help their electoral fortunes at all. The party is likely to move *right* after this, not left

Every male podcaster, twitcher and YouTuber has been telling them for the better part of their lives that everything wrong in their life is cause of women, minorities and that they can be alpha males of their house and millionaires if they just act like them.
