Is CrossFit dead? I never hear about it anymore. Did Hyrox replace it?

“Quietly” is a word that has lost all meaning due to LLM abuse.

Yup. Every time time someone says “this wouldn’t work on me,” I always say “I didn’t write it for you”
Smart people are the worst marketers on earth You see the countdown timer, the "3 spots left", the "$26,000 of value for $997" and think this would never work on me Correct, and that is exactly the problem It was written for the 99% who dont spend all day studying why it works, and there are a lot more of them than there are of you Thats how an empty company with no product does $1,000,000 a month while a brilliant product with a clever founder dies quietly If an ad makes you cringe, run it The ones that impress you only ever sell to other marketers -Pampa

No independent thoughts. No self awareness. Just endless AI drivel delivered straight to your feed.
No one: 42yr old in Oakleys on Facebook that uses the free version of ChatGPT: OMG WOW AI SLOP

I keep seeing these accounts on IG. It’s some woman or man in great shape that claim to be 60+ And they all have two things in common: 1. Tons of people commenting. These are real accounts. People who believe this is real. 2. An affiliate link in their bio, usually to a supplement they claim to use that keeps them looking so young. There are thousands of these accounts and they’re all AI. The fact people can’t tell just makes me realize we are about to see the Turing test passed en masse in the near future.

Another AI tell is when people insert a random day into their copy. “This was just another Tuesday” Not terrible I guess but a weird phrase. No one says this irl.

Curse of knowledge here. YOU can tell because you have expertise. But 99% of people can’t. They don’t have the fundamental understanding to know the difference. nor are they thinking “did AI design this page?” People like me can use AI to supercharge my output and I know what’s good and what sucks.
I can tell if your proposal was AI-generated I can tell if AI wrote your website copy I can tell if AI designed your landing page So can your customers. I am begging you to run the other way and leverage your human experts to stand out from all this noise.

I have a bad feeling Loom is about to go downhill with the Atlassian transfer.

case in point: I get an email that says to update my account with the main email I use. Click over and it says "email doesn't have access to Confluence" it even send me a 2-factor auth to confirm, still says it doesn't exist. @Atlassian you're screwing the pooch.

'Actual' and 'Actually' are 2 AI tells I'm seeing all the time. It's supposed to come off as persuasive... like "Here's what this *actually* means." But it comes off as condescending and makes me think whoever wrote this is hiding something.

What you're getting are amateurs who don't know what good writing is. Or it's a bunch of dunning krugers who think they know how to write because they can prompt ChatGPT. Recently had an argument with someone about LLM slop and how it's too obvious they were using Claude for everything. I shared a skill with them that would pull out all the stupid AI tells and they came back with "but LLMs are trained on all the best writing, so this is good writing!" It was clear they'd never read any good fiction in their life.
Is AI killing freelancer writers? Or are freelance writers killing freelance writers? Well... I just hired 5 writers for a test assignment. I told each of them: "We have a strict no AI policy. Please don't use AI to write." And FOUR of them sent AI slop. (The fifth person sent me a so-so piece. But at least is wasn't AI generated) I just don't get what these writers are thinking. They have a HUGE opportunity to stand out. Instead they're copying and pasting outputs from Claude. (And no, don't tell me that they have some magical prompt or an "expert" method to edit an AI output. They don't) So attention freelance writers: You have a chance to charge MORE than ever before. And get it. In fact, I'm paying great writers 2x what I paid just a few years ago. But to earn that rate you have to: 1. Spend time really understanding and researching the space (AI is fine for this) 2. Use your keyboard to write 👍🏻

Finally got a proper coffee machine. Such an upgrade from capsule coffee. Should have done this years ago honestly. Life is too short to drink bad coffee ☕

That article that went super viral the other day is likely plagiarized from a video that was published 2 days before

As a general rule now with writing on the internet, the word “chaos” is a big tell that it’s AI slop. Pay attention to any of the videos you watch. People are using ChatGPT as their scriptwriter and they do not edit a single word.

Yesterday I had a copy review with @AndrewWriteCopy and it was excellent. I’ve been writing copy for over a decade now and having a second pair of eyes to help me see things I glossed over is worth so much… Because after a while, you will eventually become blind to your own biases and writing habits. The value of the call is hard to put into words. But what we covered will help me immensely from here on out. Also, I’m confident this piece of copy will perform well after I rework it a bit based on his feedback. Plus, I got so much insight from the chat that I’ll be able to use with all my other projects.
