Major League Rugby and ESPN have extended their broadcast and streaming agreement for the 2027 season.
More rugby. More eyes on the game. More to come. 👀

MLR skeptics can. Well. Suck it. Great numbers and a great season even if it didn't go my team's way and the Old Mate got stuck.
A gritty, fun, and successful season in so many ways. Looking forward to building on the momentum heading into 2027 @usmlr 👏

Ranger Picks Postseason Final Results: rangerpicks.rugby/2026/06/23…
Once the Old Mate makes it to the post season, it'll make it to the final. The winner of the shield will hold the old mate until #mlr2027. Who's it gonna be? #mlr2026
What if @usmlr had a hidden lineal title that changed hands only when the current holder lost?
🏆 First holder: NOLA Gold
🛡️ Most defenses: San Diego Legion (22)
🔥 Longest reign: San Diego Legion (11 cup matches)
👑 Current holder: New England Free Jacks

Fun fact - the Old Mate has changed hands in the championship final only three times final: 2023, 2024 and 2025. Will Legion join the Free Jacks in this exclusive club? #mlr2026 oldmate.rugby
Ranger Picks Postseason Semifinal Update: rangerpicks.rugby/2026/06/16…
The Old Mate makes it to the playoffs once again. It has missed the playoffs only once (not including the aborted 2020 season) - in 2021 when New England Free Jacks took it from Rugby ATL in the final regular season match and the Free Jacks failed to make the post season. 1/3
It has changed hands in the first round of the playoffs in 2018 (Seattle taking it from San Diego), 2019 (Seattle taking it from Toronto), 2022 (New York taking it from Rugby ATL) and 2024 (Seattle once again taking it from San Diego). 2/3

If this @HoundsChicago season doesn’t end with the Shield, then it’s a failure.
However, only 1 team has ever lifted the Shield after finishing as the top regular season team (2021 LA Giltinis). Can the Hounds overcome @usmlr’s ‘Curse of First’?

With a 10-0 record, @HoundsChicago record the 1st perfect season in @usmlr history, but how does it compare to other excellent MLR Seasons?
This chart shows the 7 most dominant MLR seasons (by % of available pts), and the Hounds still look fantastic!
