To the dude who insisted that Elon's take over of Twitter was equal in importance to the creation of the internet and that I was naïve. I wish for that 4D chess set you keep talking about to appear inside your colon overnight with all the discomfort that entails.
I've been pretty quiet because the situation over the last few weeks has been atrocious. I 'jcallina' on pretty much every social media service if you need to find me elsewhere.

Born on this day, 1939: Wendy Carlos. Musical pioneer and score composer of two of Stanley’s films, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining.
I've had a lot of fantastic interactions on Twitter for over a decade and I am not ready to cut and run yet, but it is tempting. Watching an oligarch run this service into the ground with amateurish decisions has been tough.

I love the sending stones from D&D, or as my party likes to call them: "Rocky Talkies"
I'm trying to work out if the church scene near the end of War of the Worlds 1953 is just a positive narrative thing or they are trying to connect prayers to the deaths of the aliens. If so that is quite the departure.
Forget what I said about humanity being nice in War of the Worlds 1953. Humanity turns on itself at the end.
On the other hand I am deeply interested in how Ann Robinson keeps her hair intact through several war zone scenes.
I've been trying to rewatch old Kaiju films through the lens of WWII and make an attempt to think about how a Japanese audience would understand them at the time. I've never done this with classic American scifi and it is clear this is what is going on with War of the Worlds 1953
