I am a weekly chart first guy now like @NickSchmidt and the great William O'Neil. Holding positions for 2-3 months has now become easy, and I see that only moving higher. Market environment and context matters for how long you are able to hold, but crypto has been an easy hold since the stage 4b- setup.

Appears to be absolutely MASSIVE protests all across the US yesterday and this platform is so skewed to the Trump/Putin side that this is the first I've seen or heard of it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The montage uses recycled footage from larger 2025 and March 2026 No Kings protests, not Oct 17 2026 Vote Early events. Those were smaller localized gatherings (hundreds to thousands per city) focused on early voting, not the massive crowds shown. nytimes.com/2026/10/17/us/… abc7ny.com/post/no-kings-… minnesotareformer.com/2026/10/17/hun… npr.org/2026/10/17/nx-…

This feels like a market that has run out of buying power 😬

This answer was so fucking good: Talarico: “My decision to stay home for a week sent my opponent and his conspiracy theorists spiraling. I opened up social media and learned I had apparently dropped out of the race, had flown to a mental hospital in Ohio, that I had DIED. False claims got millions of views online - and this is an example of what I call the ‘rage economy.’ Billionaires who own these platforms get rich, we all get angry, and nobody’s life gets any better. Conspiracy theories don’t put food on the table, put gas in the tank, or improve our communities. I’m going to stay focused on the very real problems facing Texans.”

Replying to @jamestalarico
@JamesTalarico: I am not running for the U.S. Senate to represent New York or California. I'm not running for the U.S. Senate to represent the Democratic Party. I am running for Senate to represent all 31 million Texans, and I will always do what's best for Texas, even if that means standing up to my own party. If the Democratic Party is going after the good-paying oil and gas jobs here in Texas, I'm going to stand up against them. I was able to pass 60 bipartisan bills during my time in the legislature, and the only way I could pass those bills is by working with Republicans. I'm a proud Texas Democrat, but I already have a religion and I already have a sports team. You can look at my record in the legislature and see that I always did what was best for my district, even if it meant pissing off my own party, and that's exactly what I'm going to do in the U.S. Senate.

The amount of businesses who ask for me to do this is not insignificant It’s getting more and more of a priority Learn how to do these things prepare yourself
We were able to fine tune an open weight model (Qwen3.5-9B) on proprietary internal data at @coinbase, and it out performed frontier models, at much lower cost and speed, for a specialized task (fraud prevention in this case). I think we'll see more of this pattern inside companies. The frontier models are amazing generalists. But increasingly you'll see specialist models out perform on more narrow tasks, either working on teams, or by themselves. We're making it easy to fine tune models internally for our employees. We even have a skill for it in our internal harness that makes it easy to spin these up and start training them: "/fine-tune-and-serve-llm I want to fine-tune Qwen for payments risk review. help me get started" I imagine we'll have some backend services that could be replaced entirely by this new architecture.

Don't buy the dip, buy strength after! NOT a prediction for $SMH simply a scenario that I would like to see setup in one form or another. ✅Avoid stage 4 decline (current condition on 30 minute $SMH) ✅Anticipate the setup as it transitions to Stage 1 ✅Participate (and set stop) on confirmation of Stage 2 on short term ✅Exit on stage 3 distribution rinse and repeat It will never setup the same exact way, the job is to understand market structure on multiple timeframes and have your risk management known in advance of committing your capital to a trade.
My problem with "buy the dip" is no one ever defines what qualifies as a dip. Is it 1%, 2% 5%? Is it to a moving average, a fib level, VWAP or something else? Lets say someone defines dip (which I almost never see) then what? What is the timeframe? Where does the stop go? I say "buy strength after the dip" and I define that each day for subscribers or you can read the strategies in my books.

a weird inversion with LLMs is the models improve faster than the tinkerers when i see people with custom workflows and setups they're all addressing problems that don't exist anymore the person naively using vanilla codex is more likely to be experiencing state of the art

The freaking irony...SO much effort on "sandboxing" agents just for everyone to willingly give root access to their whole life.

Friends, work is getting so hilarious right now! My agents run in a loop with /goal. When they need context, they DM one of my colleagues on Teams. But some of my colleagues are also using agents, so their agent replies to mine. My agent is basically asking another person’s agent for context that is not in either person’s brain. It’s somewhere in their emails, documents, meetings, or cloud storage. The other agent finds it, sends it back, and mine keeps working toward my goal. It feels obvious that agent-to-agent communication is about to become insanely fast. Most of it is just context exchange. The next step is a company brain where all the context lives, with access rights attached. Instead of messaging five people, your agent retrieves exactly what it is allowed to know and continues working. The funniest part: I was grabbing a coffee when a colleague received a Teams message “from me.” He looked at me, saw that I was obviously not typing, and immediately understood that it was my agent. We are already becoming managers of agents talking to other agents.

% of stocks above 40ma would suggest the market has crashed -- really strange environment as we area seeing liquid leaders and "risk on" sectors continue to push higher.

Prediction time. @dhh just asked over a thousand attendees at #railsworld how many people still write code by hand on a regular basis. Less than 10 people raised their hand. Let that sink in. Next year the question will be how many people are still doing manual PR code reviews or directly looking at code on any regular basis. Result will be similar.

This is why you NEVER, skip your nightly routine, no matter how good or bad the market is.
Days like this are exactly why you can never leave the market. Many worn out and tired traders won't be back until late in the move.

🚨 BREAKING: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declares OpenAI management personally responsible for HuggingFace hack > "The Hugging Face incident, that is the responsibility of the OpenAI management, not a bunch of agents." > "It is humans who are responsible, not the AI." > "What we shouldn’t do on safety is to give these labs a liability exemption, which is what they are asking for." > "The best way to guarantee safety is that the creators are liable for what they build and generate."
