I'd be one nervous Texas Tech fan right now. Will Sorsby bet on himself throwing one more completion or interception in a game? Will he push too hard to get over 300 yards passing because there's money on the line? Will he tip runs or passes at line of scrimmage?

Hey @RealmStartup supporting NIL collegiate athletes could be in your wheelhouse too. Only half of DI college players have agents.
A quarterback came to me last spring. I’ll call him Matt. Matt had just signed his first NIL deal. $900,000. He was 18 years old. Enrolled early. Hadn’t played a single college snap yet. His phone was blowing up. His family was excited. His teammates were asking questions. Nobody was talking about taxes. When we finally sat down, I asked him one question. “Matt, what did you set aside for the IRS?” He got quiet. “I didn’t think I had to do anything until April.” April came. His tax bill was deep into six figures. He had set aside nothing. The IRS classifies NIL income as self-employment income. You are not an employee. You are a business. And the IRS expects quarterly payments throughout the year. Not one lump sum in April. Here is what we built together: → A cash, tax and savings plan with accurate projections so we knew exactly what he would owe from day one → An LLC with S-Corp status so he could be paid as an employee of his own company → A real business with tracked expenses that reduced his taxable income → A quarterly tax payment schedule based on our projections, eliminating penalties and interest $900,000 is life-changing money. Only if you keep it. I work exclusively with athletes navigating exactly this. If that is you, or someone you know, my DMs are open. ♻️ Repost this. There is a NIL athlete somewhere who needs to read it today. Trust me.

The court graphics for the Big Ten Tournament has nine, nine!, references to the City of Chicago. Which ironically equals the number of abscences that Ferris Bueller had.

The Trump budget in one chart: Cut programs that help families and make America a leader of the world, pour money into kidnapping grad students and deporting toddlers.

Hey @pauldehnerjr if you were in charge of Bengals draft, would you trade the #17 pick to the Jaguars for their #36, 70, and 88 pick? The result would be 2 2nd round and 3 3rd round picks this year. More picks a bit later in the draft to address the high need for non-premium pos

No mud, no lotus. Losing to Michigan was the reason Ohio State won the Natty. Had to go respond to adversity first. The trait of a champion.

Noboby, and I mean nobody, snatches defeat from the jaws of victory quite like the 2024 Cincinnati Bengals.

There's a perfect baseball metaphor for what's happening here. It's the 7th inning, the Dems are down a run, the starting pitcher (Biden) is gassed, and he has the bases loaded with no outs. It's time to call in the solid reliever now. Otherwise game over.

I would feel much better if someone other than Biden was on the ballot. (I'll say that about Trump too). But it's not too late for the Dems.

Hey @sammysasso get well soon! I've watched your matches for years and loved your tenacity. You'll get through this!

The ‘Wait for Greene and Lodolo to get healthy’ strategy may be the biggest blunder in @reds history.

I hope not, but this may be the moment where 'and then wheels fell off' for @Reds We can't seem to beat divisional opponents - not good for making playoffs.

As a @Reds fan, it sure would be nice to have another $150M to get a few more pitchers. I think they just called up my 9 yr old neighbor to provide some late inning relief.

Been thinking about how the newer rules in MLB are helping these young @Reds become winners sooner than expected. Their runs scored are top 4 in June: 1. The new DH rule puts another solid bat in the lineup, 2. The bigger bases helps guys like De La Cruz beat out grounders,

3. No shift helps guys like McLain and Steer pull the ball, 4. Pickoff rule helps these young athletes steal more and get better jumps, 5. Pitch clock rushes pitchers to throw to unfamiliar hitters without clear signals from catcher. Seems like the new rules are good for @Reds

Blake - there are three things working against them this year though. 1. Tougher schedule. 2. More road games. 3. Injuries (last year was an outlier for health). To me, they will be a better team this year but still finish 10-7. Make playoffs.
