Myth: Home batteries only benefit the well-off who can afford them.
Reality: Time-shifting energy use benefits all electricity users; there's an equity dividend.
Here’s the story of our strata community's latest adventure in sustainability upgrades.

Watched Digger - a wild & visionary satire about the fossil fuel industry and politics. Great dialogues, often laughing-out-loud funny and disturbingly true. Not popular in the US but may well become a classic. Tom Cruise deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of oil boss Digger.

My understanding it’s driven by the charger, not the car. So you might be able charge on solar a non Tesla EV for example.
“That means the centre cannot simply sit there congratulating itself for being reasonable. …De Gaulle’s lesson for Australia is therefore not that moderation always wins.
It is almost the opposite.”

Had a fun day yesterday working with @grok @bot on a new personal website.
I added some puzzle fun, and a live home solar/battery/grid diagram via a @Cloudflare worker.

Thank you ever so much for your endorsement of »Anti-fascist Economics« @PikettyWIL!
In this important & timely video, Isabella Weber - Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst - summarises themes in her new book Anti-Fascist Economics: In Defense of Affordability, Dignity, and Democracy.
Hope @AlboMP reads it.

I’ve been driving with FSD every day since it was released in Australia. I’ve never seen this before. Sometimes it goes thru these things. It’s not always like this, hopefully you get to try it again one day.

Ethiopia spends US$3.6B a year importing fuel. Yet >95% of its electricity capacity is renewable, and most of its future vehicle fleet hasn’t even been bought.
Why build an oil-dependent transport system if you can skip it? #Bettrification #SWB #EV

Great snapshot of the global EV adoption trajectory that puts the transition into perspective. China's rapid growth in EV production isn't just driven by domestic demand; it's increasingly being fuelled by surging export demand as EV adoption accelerates across dozens of markets.
NEW | EV Adoption is booming around the world
The Hormuz crisis once again revealed the risks of an energy system reliant on fossil fuels and countries are taking notice.
Growing EV fleets have saved oil importers more than $20 billion since the start of the war.

WHAT EXCITES ME MORE THAN A SEMI-FLYING TESLA ROADSTER?
The fact that Australia's cheapest new car today is an EV!
While Tesla grabs headlines with rocket thrusters and a semi-flying Roadster, something arguably far more significant is happening at the opposite end of the automotive market.
The BYD Atto 1 is now available from just A$19,990 (US$13,200), making it Australia's cheapest new car, a title it currently shares with the petrol MG3 Vibe at its promotional price.
Think about that for a moment.
We've gone from EVs being expensive toys for early adopters to an electric car sitting at the very bottom of Australia's new-car price ladder.
And that's before factoring in the considerably lower running and maintenance costs.
The Geely EX2, BYD Dolphin, Aion UT and MG4 Urban are also bringing affordable electric motoring to the masses.
This is what genuinely excites me about the EV revolution. Not million-dollar technological spectacles, but the democratisation of technology that makes cleaner, quieter and more efficient transport accessible to millions.
Price parity isn't some distant prediction anymore. It's here, right now, in Australia.
And once EVs become cheaper to buy AND cheaper to run, the economics of the transition become increasingly difficult to resist.
The Roadster might make headlines, but it's cars like the Atto 1 that will change the world.

FSD Supervised is your superhuman guardian angel
My Tesla just saved us from a collision, a human driver made an illegal U-turn, then ran the stop sign and pulled right out in front of me. Self-Driving hit the brakes and stopped us from 33mph to 0 instantly! Always thankful @TeslaSI 🙏
“Digger” may be the best climate crisis movie ever made, cleverly disguised as the worst.

Summary for utilities globally
(1) Flexible connections energize Superchargers years sooner and drivers shouldn't be impacted.
(2) It's a bridge, not a permanent solution. As utilization grows, Superchargers still need full power, so keep grid upgrades on track.
(3) We recommend one protocol: IEEE 2030.5. V4 Superchargers already speak it, and one global standard beats a patchwork of protocols.
