This Friday, I’ll be giving a talk on the historical case for the resurrection of Christ.
Several years ago, I began looking into the historical evidence as an atheist to prove that Christianity was nothing but a therapeutic superstition. What I found completely changed my life.
Over the course of a year, I spent nearly every waking moment reading whatever I could find on the subject. My entire life was suddenly reorganized around answering this one question: did Jesus Christ actually rise from the dead?
There was a time when I thought this question was too ridiculous to even consider. But looking back, it was by far the most important question I've ever asked.

“What man is he who, weighing his own weakness, dares to ascribe his purity and innocence to his own strength, so that he should love you the less, as if he had less needed your mercy, by which you forgive sins to those who turn to you?” - Augustine
Replying to @AdrianFPascal
he will never find Christianity again.
he is too far gone and his hedonist nihilism wont change unless he has a traumatic experience.
this guy is the final stage of nietzsches demonic worldview

Once you become Catholic, you realize the Protestant denominational differences are pretty meaningless, for they all share the same misguided foundation: that each individual can determine doctrinal truth on his own.

Do not be afraid to sow without immediately seeing the fruits. The sowing belongs to you; the growth belongs to God. No gesture carried out in the name of Christ is useless.
I watched this reel today where a random person came up and asked another person in a 5 minute conversation “What’s your TC”.
To believe this is the state of affairs right now is just sad. Another person is no longer a human being to be known or understood but somebody to be compared against.
The only conceivable this could be combatted when people make efforts to relearn what it means to be human. It starts with not automating interpersonal communication.
“Picture hell as a state where everyone is perpetually concerned about his own dignity and advancement, where everyone has a grievance, and where everyone lives with the deadly serious passions of envy, self-importance, and resentment” - CS Lewis
Very true. Intern here and saved my company 3M contract which a big company was trying to rip them off for.
Everybody is sleeping on the southeastern region right now.
"We don't need to hire junior engineers"
@chintanturakhia disagrees
"This generation of interns are the most incredibly creative, collaborative, cracked builders out there"
"I am willing to bet on all of them" @greptile

The #GospelOfToday (Mt 14:22-33) teaches us the importance of not getting carried away by success and of never being presumptuous. At the same time, it teaches us not to despair, even in moments of darkness, when we feel powerless in the face of problems.
Webcodecs is insane. All of the media encoding and decoding and subtitle is happening in the browser.
I built this brainrot video generator just for fun and was using FFmpeg and it worked great, but deployment quickly became a hassle.
I had a canvas in the web already for live previews, but after seeing the post I tried to use MediaBunny and holy crap, it works like a charm. This is a first pass demo.
I need to make it more polished but this makes me even more bullish about @diffusionhq
Prolly going to dive deep and try to write a detailed analysis of how it is working!
I’m not sure why but AI writing makes my blood boil. It is ironic because I use AI more than 95% of the population just by the virtue of being a SWE.
There is something about connection and maybe even language itself. The point of social media was to imitate and enable real human connection for those who otherwise may not be able to. However, reading all these slop posts and writing seems as if the person behind the screen thinks of me as an engagement point to optimize for.
I am not able to articulate it properly as it is closer to midnight and I’m tired after a day of work but maybe I will try to write something about it.
On a similar note, I love @pangram! I love the modern witch hunting of AI sloppers!
maximize learning!!!
As I continue to write more software, it seems like software engineering is less and less of a solved problem. At the same time, I am not writing code by hand anymore. It is certainly a strange position to be in.
When I was a freshman in college, AI was already here but it was frowned upon to use it. The reasons given were that they would impede learning. Now, just three years later, it seems the use of AI is ubiquitous.
It seems that AI has completely changed learning. I have been trying to build more and it has allowed me to tackle way beyond what I know. The only way I have been growing and learning is continuously tackling new problems and going deep in it. It has to be very intentional and the desire to one shot and get some semi-working shitty prototype is more than ever. I have had to intentionally increase friction to allow myself the space to think as constant steering is still required for the agent and for that end, I need to know enough.
It seems it is easy to get to the 80% of the solution but further intentional refinement is what differentiates and scales. If I do not know a topic, I just continue to talk to the LLMs till I know how to. The way I keep the models in check is by constraining the models to specific requirements and using strict types. This is something I learnt from old man @badlogicgames
Here’s an aggregate of tips to maximize learning -
