Two months after my husband’s vasectomy, I showed him a positive pregnancy test.
He stared at the two pink lines for maybe three seconds.
Then he put down his coffee and said, “That’s impossible.”
I actually laughed because I thought he was joking.
Me: “The doctor literally told us it wasn’t immediate. You still needed follow-up testing.”
Diego didn’t laugh.
He looked at me like I was a stranger standing in his kitchen.
“Who is he?”
I froze.
Me: “Who is who?”
“The father.”

I don’t know why, but all my friendships feel so different lately. It’s like everyone is changing, we’re slowly growing apart and the connections that once felt so natural don’t feel the same anymore. Conversations are dry, the energy has shifted and sometimes I find myself missing people who are still very much in my life. I miss when everything felt easy. When we could talk for hours, laugh about the smallest things and feel close without having to try so hard. I miss the version of us that existed before everything started changing. I guess I’m just grieving the way things used to be, even though nothing has officially ended.

I almost got into somebody else’s business at the Publix deli while running errands today. But another woman beat me to it.
And apparently there were THREE of us prepared to get involved. 👀👀
Chile. You can’t make this stuff up.
While looking at salads, I heard a man getting LOUD at the deli counter.
It was a different kind of loud though. Not a frustrated-customer loud.
Nah. It was that particular kind where somebody wants EVERYBODY within a 30-foot radius to know they’re upset.
Yeah.

Even if I was to do a giveaway of 5k to 10 people, some will take the money and somehow come back to unfollow you😂

This annoying woman was filming a dance video on a moving train when she lost her balance and fell straight on me, knocking my iPhone 17 Pro Max out of my hand. It hit the floor so hard that the screen smashed to pieces. I was still staring at my phone in shock when she looked at it, laughed and said, “At least you got the phone on the video. You can always buy another one.” Then she picked up her phone and tried to continue filming like she hadn't just destroyed something worth over $1,000….

My husband asked me to help his younger brother pay off a loan. Three months later, I discovered my husband had taken the money himself.
My brother-in-law called me one Sunday, saying he needed KSh 180,000 to clear his loan arrears and avoid losing his car.
After discussing it with my husband, I agreed to lend him KSh 150,000 from our savings. My husband offered to handle the transfer.
A month later, I asked my brother-in-law when he planned to start repaying us.
He looked confused.
“What money? Your husband only sent me KSh 40,000.”

I warned my fiancé that if he brought my estranged father to our wedding without my permission, I would walk out. He promised he wouldn't. Eleven days before the wedding, I discovered my father was on the guest list.
Over dinner, I told Theo, “No surprises at the wedding. Nothing I haven't approved. If you ambush me in front of everyone, I'm ending it.”
He laughed. “You're being dramatic.”
“I'm serious.”
He reached across the table and squeezed my hand. “No surprises. Got it.”
My father had disappeared nine years earlier after taking out $38,000 in student loans in my name when I was a teenager. I spent years paying off debt I never should have had, and I never heard from him again.
Theo knew what my father had done. He knew I wanted nothing to do with him.
I trusted Theo to respect that.
Eleven days before the wedding, his mother called to ask about the seating chart. She asked three times whether the head table had room for one more person.
I told her it was full.
That night, I checked the guest list on the venue coordinator's tablet while Theo was showering. At the bottom was a name added under his mother's invitation.
I recognized my father's surname immediately…..

I get emotional when someone knows just what to say to me, especially when they understand feelings I’ve never quite known how to explain. It’s the little things. The gentle words, the reassurance, the thoughtfulness and the feeling that I don’t have to explain why something hurts for them to care. I don’t think people realise how much it means to be understood without having to find the perfect words. To have someone notice the little changes in your mood, recognise when something is weighing on your heart and offer comfort without making you feel like you’re asking for too much. I don’t even realise how much I need that kind of tenderness until someone gives it to me. All the walls I’ve spent years building feel a little easier to let down. Beneath all the independence, the self-protection and the pretending that I can handle everything on my own, there’s still a part of me that wants to be cared for. Perhaps one of the most delicate parts of being human is how a little tenderness can reach the places we’ve spent years teaching ourselves to hide.

A woman at the supermarket kept staring at me. Finally she walked over, pointed at my daughter and said, "You probably don't remember me, but I used to see you at the hospital." My heart dropped. Not because I remembered her. But because I remembered that season. The miscarriages. The questions. The whispers. The people who made me feel like my pain needed an explanation. Then she smiled and said, "I used to pray for you every time I saw you."

A man sets the tone in a relationship. When he is intentional, communicates clearly, takes initiative and makes his woman feel secure. It creates an environment where trust and love can grow. It’s not about controlling the relationship or expecting him to do everything. It’s about understanding that leadership means showing up, taking responsibility and setting an example through his behaviour. A man who leads with love, respect and consistency makes it easier for both people to build a healthy relationship together.
