the box was perfect. full pepperoni, i took another photo, and doug said "huh, looks good."
he set it on the coffee table and said he was going to grab plates. i stood there awkwardly in the doorway.
then a golden retriever walked out of the kitchen, calmly put his front paws on the table, and ate every single piece of pepperoni off the pizza in about four seconds. he left the cheese completely untouched like he'd done it a hundred times.
doug walked back in with the plates, looked at the pizza, and said "see? NO PEPPERONI."
i said "sir, that is your dog."
doug looked at the dog. the dog looked at doug. there was grease on his nose.
"...biscuit?"
i drove back and told gary, who stared at the wall for a full minute and said "so we've been paying to feed a dog."
the next friday doug called again, and gary answered. i heard him say "sir, you're going to have to put the pizza somewhere biscuit can't reach."
doug now orders two pizzas, one for him and one extra pepperoni "for the dog," and he pays for both.

No puedo creer que hayan hecho esto, el "Plan canje del norte".
For anyone curious about what it actually looked like to kill a generation of functioning cars, here’s an actual video from 2009 and brief explanation:
The dealer first replaces the oil with sodium silicate solution. It’s a clear-ish liquid that crystallizes under extreme heat. As the engine warms up the solution begins to form small abrasive crystals in the oil system that shred the bearing and score the cylinder walls.
Within seconds of starting the car you can see smoke billowing from the exhaust, this is the crystals scratching the cylinder walls and leaving small grooves for oil and solution to leak past into the combustion chamber and ignite/evaporate, producing the white smoke.
Pretty soon the entire crankcase is full of crystals and freshly shredded metal flakes, the engine seizes. It took about 40 seconds in this video. Some engines reportedly lasted up to 7 minutes, but all were destroyed. That strikes me as sort of sad in a way, like watching a great warrior slowly lose a heroic last stand.
Now, this is the part that gets insanely wasteful. These cars were sent to federally approved recycling facilities where they had 180 days to sell the non-engine parts before they were required to prove that they had shred the entire thing into scrap steel.
But, in talking to a guy who ran one such facility at the time, he typically just sent them straight to the crusher. The timeframes allotted weren’t long enough to dismantle all of the cars, and even if you could, the marginal prices of the parts was greatly diminished. You cannot sell 1000 transmissions when only 50 went bad that year, they became worthless.
So just like that, in order to increase prosperity and save the environment, 677,000 entire running cars and trucks were turned directly into rebar worth a few cents per pound.
The entire Obama administration was like a chapter out of atlas shrugged.

#WATCH | Delhi: Former CJI DY Chandrachud says, "In any society—especially in a democracy—institutions are essential. Whether they are public or private, institutions are necessary for us to progress and for the nation to move forward. We must strengthen our existing institutions and make them more robust. In the healthcare sector, in particular, there is a critical need to focus on patient care and welfare. Public hospitals, for instance, serve the poor and the needy—many of whom travel from great distances to seek care. Therefore, it is imperative that we further strengthen and fortify our public hospitals and public health infrastructure..."

Her name was Muskan, a resident of Premnagar, Jhansi.
She was married to Nilesh, a resident of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh (a bank manager at MP Gramin Bank).
On the night of 23 October 2026, Nilesh came to her parents’ house and told them he was taking Muskan to his aunt’s house. In reality, the couple checked into Room No. 212 at Rishabh Hotel in the Sipri Bazaar area of Jhansi.
On 24/25 October, while checking in/out of the hotel, Muskan suddenly fell backwards near the room door and her head hit the ground. Nilesh and the hotel staff took her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Muskan’s father has alleged that Nilesh took her to the hotel by lying, covered her mouth, smashed her head against the wall, and killed her. He has also mentioned that Nilesh was already married and that there were frequent quarrels.
The hotel CCTV clearly shows Muskan walking towards the room with her husband and a hotel staff member. Within a few seconds, she suddenly collapsed backwards near the door (head first). Nilesh immediately picked her up and carried her inside the room.
This is an example of how an ordinary death is turned into a murder and a marital quarrel. The death of a married woman in her in-laws’ home is always automatically assumed to be a dowry death, murder, or domestic homicide. This is a clear misuse of the law.
Because of these black laws, the husband will have to keep running to courts for years.
Fareed says "Musk chose a wrong time to attack the Modi govt."
I agree with Fareed on everything he says in this episode. Including on how Trump admin has eroded 25 years of India-US relationship, and trust by cozying up to India's arch rival and dictatorship like Pakistan.
But here's my analysis on Musk's actions:
Musk didn't chose the wrong moment. He was advised to do this attack wrongly by agents of a power orchestrating all kinds of destabilizing events in and around India now.
He was advised to do it at a time when Starlink was about to be approved anyway. IMO, the influence this power has on Musk's supply chain was leveraged to make him do this attack on GoI, Ambani, and Modi.
But this power is very bad in understanding India. It thought by doing this using Elon's clout when its other destabilization protests were on, and by using its political agents inside India to attack Modi linking Ambani, it can destabilize India further.
These supremacists have little understanding about India and its diverse psychology. They project their homogeneous culture and reverence for westerners like Elon on diverse Indians to think such attacks by him will be endorsed by Indians.
It backfired badly. Not only it backfired for Elon and the purpose he was made to attack, it backfired on their main destabilizing efforts using protests and anarchy too. It helped a foreign hand emerge in the minds of Indians clearly diluting the regime change efforts.
This is why I believe in the long term this power will fail against India even if it succeeds against other superpower adversaries. India is too complex and diverse even for highly experienced Indian politicians to direct it as a whole. It's better to give up and get along.

🚨 BREAKING: A NEW NATIONAL INSTITUTION HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED! 😂
NATIONAL ACADEMY OF HONEST RETIRED OFFICERS FOR THE PROTECTION OF DEMOCRACY (in short- NAHROPD)...
Chairman: Mr. Kanwal Sibal, Former Foreign Secretary @KanwalSibal
Director General: Mr. Ashok Khemka, Retired IAS @AshokKhemka_IAS
Mission: Protect democracy from the dangerous habit of asking questions. 🤣
After decades of government service, these two gentlemen have discovered a new national emergency:
Journalists are asking questions. Former Election Commissioners are raising constitutional concerns. And ordinary citizens are refusing to remain silent! 😱
The NAHROPD Academy has announced its special training programmes:
Course 1: Journalist Management
When journalists question your arguments, question their upbringing, credibility or motives. Why waste time answering? @abhisar_sharma
@VinodSharmaView
Course 2: Supreme Court Worship
Court judgments are infallible. Constitutional questions are unnecessary. Just wait for the verdict and stop debating!
Course 3: International Conspiracy Detection
An Indian discussing Indian democracy in London is a threat to national security. Chairman Sibal will personally investigate every suspicious podcast. 😂
Course 4: The Honest Officer PR Masterclass
Build a reputation for honesty, collect transfer orders, become a media sensation and enjoy lifelong immunity from public criticism.
Special Case Study: Vinod Rai
The celebrated 2G notional-loss controversy, followed by his appointment as Banks Board Bureau Chairman.
Research Question: When does a reputation for integrity become a substitute for accountability?
Guest Faculty: Mr. Ashok Khemka, whose celebrated transfer record apparently makes his arguments immune to scrutiny. 🤣
Course 5: Institutional Independence
When a former CEC questions the separation of powers, don't address the constitutional issue. Question his intentions instead.
Course 6: The Art of Surviving Every Government
Learn how to build an image of fearless independence while navigating decades of political power.
SPECIAL RESEARCH PROJECT:
Why do some officers become symbols of honesty while others face investigations, disciplinary proceedings or career-ending consequences? And most honest ones face imprisonment while PR stunts ones survive regime after regime!
And how can citizens distinguish genuine institutional courage from carefully cultivated PR?
FACULTY BENEFITS:
Unlimited TV debates, complimentary patriotism certificates and lifetime access to the X BLOCK button. 😂 (Mr. kanwal Sibal blocked me for just two decent academic replies)
Dear retired officers,
Your designations are not constitutional arguments.
Your transfer orders are not certificates of infallibility.
And your reputation for honesty does not place you above public scrutiny.
In a democracy, even the most decorated officer must defend his arguments with evidence, not his biography.
Welcome to retirement, gentlemen!
The Constitution doesn't retire when bureaucrats do. 🤣
Some people asks me, why you write on officers?
Because I love officers, they are most decorated officials of this country, I know their each tactic. Remember Bhopal Land Scam where 50 IAS and IPS officers across the nation colluded to buy the land? This is not merely decorated corruption, it is an organised loot. I know how they tactically build image through their PR stunts to get promotion in next regime. Different officers do different types of stunts and survive regime after regimes, some of them fight court cases of their transfer and postings for best track record PR, so noone can question them.
👏🙏

🚨SHOCKING - FIR against Malabar:
A man walked into a Malabar Gold showroom in Bilaspur with a simple request: exchange his old 22-carat HUID-hallmarked bracelet.
The staff ran it through their XRF machine. Once. Twice. Three times.
Every reading came back the same: 20 carat.
They even told him the hallmark didn’t exist.
He called the local jeweller who had sold him the bracelet. The jeweller walked in, confirmed the HUID, and asked them to test it again.
Same machine. Same bracelet. Same room.
This time an employee adjusted something on the machine. Suddenly the reading flipped to 916 - pure 22 carat.
The jeweller recorded everything. The Sarafa Association arrived. Police registered an FIR against the showroom manager and the machine operator. The machine and DVR were seized.
This wasn’t a small local shop. This was Malabar Gold “the chain that advertises trust, purity, and BIS standards across India”.
One bracelet. Two readings. An 8% gap in gold value. And the only thing that changed was who was watching.
If a hallmarked piece can magically lose two carats the moment a customer wants to exchange it, and magically regain them the moment someone pushes back, what exactly is the machine testing?
Customers don’t walk into Malabar expecting a calibration error that only appears when they’re selling gold.
They walk in expecting the purity printed on their receipt.
The FIR is real.
The readings are on record.
The machine was seized.
Malabar still hasn’t explained why the same piece of gold needed a “setting” before it became 22 carat again.
Until they do, this isn’t a machine glitch.
It’s a business model.

Look at this idiot BJP Minister justifying the Chinese intrusion in India's territory...😡
Kiren Rijiju :
> "It's not like they came and captured our village"
> "They've set up camp on some land because there's no demarcation"
> "So there is confusion"
And then, in the very same breath, he admits:
> The Chinese PLA has built structures and "village-like buildings" there
> Chinese army activity on the top ridges has "definitely increased"
> The villagers' concern is "valid"
Think about it for a second.
> China builds a whole settlement, and the minister calls it "confusion"
> The PLA is camped on land our own people call ours, and the minister calls it "no demarcation"
> When an opposition leader raises it, he gets labelled "anti-national"
Remember June 2020? "Na koi wahan hamari seema mein ghusa hai, na hi koi ghusa hua hai."
Six years later the script hasn't changed at all. Deny, downplay, and if anyone asks questions, block them on X.

In 1909, on a beach in southern India, a man looked at a thin, quiet boy and announced he had found the next Messiah.
The man was Charles Leadbeater, a leader of the Theosophical Society, who claimed he could see auras.
The boy was the son of one of the Society’s employees.
Leadbeater said the boy’s aura held no trace of selfishness.
His name was Jiddu Krishnamurti.
What happened next was one of the strangest projects in spiritual history.
The Society’s president, Annie Besant, became his legal guardian. He was taken to England, educated, and trained for one purpose:
to become the vehicle for the coming World Teacher.
In 1911, they built an organisation around him, the Order of the Star in the East, with Krishnamurti at its head.
It grew into a global movement with more than 43,000 members. A Dutch baron gave him a castle with 5,000 acres of woodland. In 1927, Besant declared publicly that the World Teacher was here.
Thousands were waiting for him to speak as the Messiah.
On August 3, 1929, at a camp in Ommen in the Netherlands, he finally did.
In front of Annie Besant and about 3,000 members, he dissolved the entire order.
"Truth is a pathless land," he told them.
No religion, no sect, and no organisation could lead anyone to it. A belief could not be organised. He did not want followers.
He gave back the castle. He returned the money and the land.
People who had spent twenty years preparing to follow him were told there was nothing to follow.
Think about what that took.
He was 34. He had been handed everything a spiritual teacher could want:
devotees, wealth, land, a global platform, and a ready-made identity as the saviour of humanity.
And he walked away from the one thing almost nobody walks away from.
Being someone.
For the next 57 years, he travelled the world saying the same uncomfortable thing in a hundred different ways.
No authority can see the truth for you. Not a guru, not a method, not him.
You have to watch your own mind, the fear, the comparison, the endless striving to become something, until you see that the one watching is made of the same thing it’s watching.
He put it in four words.
The observer is the observed.
Most of us are still waiting for someone to arrive.
The right teacher.
The right method.
The day we’ll finally be ready.
In 1929, the World Teacher arrived.
And the first thing he did was send everyone home.
Not because there was nothing to find.
Because no one else could ever find it for you.

In the 2024 election campaign, the Prime Minister and his cabinet colleagues took huge credit for the bull market of the previous few years.
The Prime Minister even encouraged people to invest in PSU stocks.
I then pointed out that the government was doing an unwise thing. If they take credit for bull markets, they need to take the blame for bear markets in the future. You cannot have it only one way.
Also, what are the prices of PSU stocks from 2024 compared with now? What would have happened to those who bought PSU stocks based on the Prime Minister’s call?
However powerful a Prime Minister is, or for that matter the head of any country, no one controls asset cycles.
Trump learned it the hard way. Being the US President, arguably the most powerful position on earth, he thought he could control the bond markets. Instead, he is now acting according to the ebb and flow of the bond market.
Between 1964 and 1981, the US economy grew, yet the markets did little for these 17 years. That is because interest rates went up, compressing valuations.
There was a huge bull market in the US between 1981 and 1999. The US economy continued to do well. But as interest rates went down, markets started expanding valuations, leading to spectacular returns.
If governments could control asset prices, silver would not have fallen by more than 50% during the last 10 months.
Asset cycles are influenced by so many factors.
Government policies are one of the variables.
Government does not decide the fate of assets.
It is asset cycles that decide the fate of governments.
