James and I had a great time chatting with Jamie. If you're interested in IR pedagogy The Teaching Curve is a great source!
A new episode is out this week featuring James der Derian and Jayson Waters @jaysonwaters discussing the definition and pedagogy of Quantum IR, theory that explores the intersection between global politics and the physical properties of sub-atomic particles. @isanet #pedagogy
I graduated yesterday! I've had a funny path to a PhD and I couldn't have done it without my supervisor James Der Derian, co-supervisor @colwight, and all the lovely people @sydneyciss and @GovtIr. Thanks!
Also, thank you @spark_syd and @drljshepherd for your support and guidance over the years.
And @ljbwelty it was an absolute pleasure to graduate with you!
The lack of coverage of the attack on @friendlyjordies' house by the major news outlets is astonishing - but not surprising. To me, this looks a lot like an attempted assassination, or perhaps an act of domestic terrorism. Like him or not, nobody deserves this.
To clarify, I think @friendlyjordies is one of the best journalists around and I hope the police are doing everything they can to keep him safe.
A great panel by @tanvi_ratna, founder of @policy4_0, on Web 3.0 and its implications for society and the future of humanity. #cyfy2022
The @orfonline knows how to throw a conference! Listen to a fascinating talk by @OmarSAlolama, the world's first Minister for AI, talk about the future of AI and using emerging tech for the good of society before profit. #CyFy2022
Easter was pretty hard on Pip.
How are your pups going? @ariadne_syd @colwight @lucysunman
It may surprise you, but students go to uni to learn, not just to have fun. If you're trying to make your courses fun, you may want to reconsider your tact. In my experience the most fun courses have been the ones where you really engage with profs (dialogue, debate, etc).
