🐕Meet Benji, a gorgeous 9 year.old Yellow #Labrador who, on the whole, is a fantastic lad & great fun to be around🐕 📖PLEASE READ BENJI'S PROFILE VERY CAREFULLY📖 Benji is everything you would expect from a Lab - goofy, playful, affectionate & loyal, with a lovely character that is very easy to fall in love with BUT.... ‼️🏡Benji does, however, have some specific behavioural needs, so we are looking for a particular type of home where these can be understood & managed, allowing him to settle, feel secure & truly thrive🏡‼️ ⚠️Benji can display some low-level resource guarding, usually around high-value items. This is something that can be managed & redirected with distraction but his new family will need to be experienced, confident & understanding of his needs⚠️ 🏡❌️🐕❌️🏡Benji must be the only dog in the home. Sharing his home with another dog gives him something else to guard against. Being an only dog will help reduce the opportunity for this behaviour🏡❌️🐕❌️🏡 ✅️🐕‍🦺🌳He is dog-friendly. Benj mixes well with other dogs & happily enjoys walks alongside them🌳🐕‍🦺✅️ 🏡❌️🚸❌️🏡He will also need an adult-only home. Benji is loving towards children when he meets them but sharing his living space with children would increase the potential for his guarding behaviour🏡❌️🚸❌️🏡 🏡His adopters will also need to understand that the transition into a new home can be stressful & his behaviour may temporarily become more pronounced before improving as he settles, learns to trust his new people & feels secure 🏡In a home with patience, consistency, understanding & plenty of love, we truly believe Benji can blossom 🏡We aren't looking for a perfect home, we're looking for his person. Someone who will see the lovely dog underneath the behaviours & give him the time & security he needs to succeed We appreciate that this may sound like a lot to ask, but Benji really is a wonderful dog.
