What you should know (A THREAD) I became ill with M.E. at 15, due to a virus. I disappeared from my life. Since 2006, I have spent 1825 days in hospital. I was bed bound for 12 YEARS and housebound for longer. I've had 4745 blood thinning injections. (1) #PwME #MedTwitter

Israeli defence minister Katz has issued a decree to execute any child flying a kite. Don’t forget to remain silent about this! Silence is complicity. Silence is taking the side of the psychopaths. Silence is taking the side of those committing genocide.

We Need Your Help Imagine starving to death and being allergic to all food.  And everyday trying to decide between starvation and a deathly allergic reaction.  ME/CFS is like an allergy to energy expenditure.  Imagine everyday trying to decide between doing something that makes you feel alive or deathly sickness.  The more you do, the less alive you feel.  And the less you do, the less alive you feel.  And the more you do, the less you are physically capable of doing.  That is ME/CFS.  Everyday.  For decades.   But if you don’t have ME/CFS, and are not allergic to life itself, you could decide right now to help us.  And it won’t cost you anything but an extra work day, or one less toy or luxury, or some other small sacrifice in an otherwise life full of blessings and opportunity.  Which I would not want to take away for a second.  But a small sacrifice from you would go a long way towards helping people living in absolute hell.   Go here to donate to ME/CFS research:  whitneydafoe.com/donate Learn more about ME/CFS here: whitneydafoe.com/mecfs/whati… ================= ================= #mecfs #mecfsawarenessday #mecfsawarenessday2026 #chronicillness #pwME #spoonie

The world's first genomic study into ME, or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, has been announced. Researchers are hoping that by building a genetic map of the illness, it will help pave the way for a future diagnostic test and even treatments. But charities have warned that there is more to do and this must only be the start.

Oh Sally, thank you so much for including me and the A Girls series 💙 Sending so much love your way xxx
Today is the 20th #MEAwarenessDay since I've been ill. It’s difficult for us to get the word out about this debilitating illness but one way is through the power of books📚 Here are some which feature ME representation (yes, some of them are by me, sorry about that)

How is this not genocide? How can we all sit by and let this happen? It is incomprehensible how little he values the human lives of others. Which country will be next?

British TV anchor @KamaliMelbourne of Sky News with a moving, personal response to Trump’s posting of the racist clip of the Obamas. I know Kamali just a little. I’m proud of him for saying this — and sad we’re in a moment when he has to.

My life is relentless at the moment. Samuel is back in hospital, back to being unable to maintain o2 levels. But what upsets me the most is people are being left in corridors for hours and hours, sometimes days, stripped of their dignity. It's so damm inhumane.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital is still starving severe ME patient Savannah. A psychiatrist came on Thursday and asked her why she hadn't got out of bed. A BPS clinician is likely why. Savannah is calling on the community for help once again 👇#MEcfs #pwME thecanary.co/uk/analysis/202…

I need to get upstairs to bed and also to go to the toilet...but upstairs is a long way up for someone who suffers with such severe fatigue that their legs collapse and can't hold their weight up... I'll have to stay downstairs for now and crawl up as soon as I can 😩

Also adding that we've been entirely reliant on the NHS, which brings home the state it's in. It's important to note that it's down to the care of immigrants that NHS is still going. This country needs to stop scapegoating immigrants. Look to the powers at be for blame, not them.
I've been very quiet on here. It's been an incredibly challenging couple of months. Samuel was admitted into hospital at the end of August and when he came out 17 days later, he had more problems than he went in with. Another auto immune diagnosis, catheters etc. (1)

I'm having to push my body far more than I'm physically capable of doing and I know there is going to be a fallout, I'm already seeing it. But currently I don't really have a choice. I know how immensely privileged I am to have a supportive family but ugh...this is hard! (3)

Thankfully we have managed to now get rid of the catheter, but we are still looking at multiple auto immune diseases and breathing issues. We're all learning to adapt to all of this (4)

Greta Thunberg in Greece: I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me, but that is not the story. Israel is escalating genocide and mass destruction with genocidal intent, attempting to erase an entire population in front of our eyes.

You can protest against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and unequivocally condemn the antisemitic terror attack in Manchester. Don’t let politicians or the media tell you that you can’t do both.
