Today marks 8 years since Hedera Mainnet launched. Hedera changed my life. When I started in this space, I had no contacts. Nothing. I was decent at research, so I started digging for crazy documents and slowly built a tiny following. Back then, I primarily researched Ripple and XRP. In 2019, I stumbled across Hedera and started testing the network during open beta with the Daily Timestamp. I still have that sub-3,000 account. Today, Hedera has nearly 10 million accounts. The first interview I ever did in this industry was with Christian Hasker over six years ago, in July 2020. When we started Genfinity in 2021, Hedera was the first network that gave us a chance. I'll always be grateful to Christian, Zenobia and everyone who believed in me. I've had the opportunity to interview nearly every major builder across Hedera, many of them multiple times. I've interviewed Mance, Leemon and network leadership multiple times. I'm also grateful for the opportunity to help break down silos between networks through initiatives like DeRec and to make introductions that created dialogue across the industry. Those relationships eventually opened doors to conversations with organizations like Tata Communications, IBM, Deloitte, BCG, PwC, McLaren, Mondelēz and many others. I've covered HederaCons, hackathons, demo days and more events than I can count. And some of my favorite memories have been on the community side. The entire @HashPack team has been incredible to work with. Together we've helped put on HederaWeen, Hashentines Day, Chainfinity and other massive community events. I remember Marc and I back in 2021 spending hours on spreadsheets trying to make sure everyone was accounted for. We onboarded tens of thousands of wallets and worked our asses off bringing together NFT projects, builders and communities from across the network through these events. Thank you to Marc and May. There is no way I'd be doing what I'm doing today, interviewing leaders across different networks, enterprises and global institutions, without the foundation Hedera helped me build. I believed in Hedera 6 years ago. I believe in Hedera today. I'm grateful for the people, the opportunities, the friendships and everyone who gave me, and continues to give me, a chance along the way. Happy 8 years @Hedera. Happy 8 years hedera-hashgraph:native. Happy 8 years to the Hederians, HBARbarians and everyone who has been along for the ride. It hasn't always been smooth. But I've watched Hedera go from outside the top 100 to #11 this past cycle, and I still believe it's one of the few networks positioned for meaningful, compliant adoption as this technology sees global adoption. I'm hopeful for what's ahead and looking forward to continuing to tell the stories of the people building it.
