this kid would be a 5-star, 0.9945 composite on the 247 school shooter rankings, and you buy him a gun??

Today was the most eventful day in College Football History.
If you had a wedding to attend today, I’m so terribly sorry.

ideally, a college degree is supposed to make you smart enough to critically evaluate the past and realize that people have historically always hated farming because it fucking sucks. she wasted a lot of money on that degree to still think like this

One difference between Kirby and Saban is that Saban always looked, acted, and sounded like he should be chairing a Wall Street investment bank (which I’m sure he could have done)
Kirby looks, acts, and sounds like he belongs in the 600 level at Sanford Stadium

NYCHA housing authority estimates it will cost them about $485,000 per unit to rehabilitate all of the units it needs to.
Is the New York public housing authority a greedy and lazy slumlord, or are you ignorant about actual costs of maintenance in NYC

Lol no. Its because we dont drink hot teas often. Thats all
Apparently the reason why kettles aren’t common in the US is because the wattage of your kettles are so low it takes forever, whereas in the UK a kettle is at a higher wattage and takes avg 1-2 mins for a full boil
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
US electric kettles are limited to lower wattage by 120V power (slower boils than UK 230V models) but are uncommon mainly due to coffee culture and makers rather than wattage alone.

Someone on here said Americans treat the phrase "law-abiding citizen" as a kind of caste you're born into regardless of whatever actions you take
The IRS sent armed agents into a family bakery and drained $68,382 from its bank account.
Their “crime”? Depositing their OWN CASH in amounts under $10,000.
Then the government demanded ANOTHER $160,000 and a guilty plea to a FELONY.
The IRS called it “structuring”: deliberately keeping deposits small to dodge bank reporting rules.
DAVID VOCATURA: “I said to them, ‘Maybe I should get a lawyer.’ And they said, ‘You don’t need one, step in the back.’”
“Until the day they came in, I had no idea what structuring was.”
“I’m a law-abiding citizen. I can’t remember the last time I got a speeding ticket.”
Nearly three years after seizing the money, a prosecutor came back with a deal that carried up to FOUR YEARS IN PRISON:
DAVID VOCATURA: “They wanted us to pay another additional $160,000 in fines and plead to a felony charge of structuring.”
They refused.
You bake bread for three generations.
You pay your taxes.
You put your own money in the bank.
And the IRS treats you like a criminal, demanding nearly a quarter million dollars.
CONTEXT: Fortunately, the IRS didn’t get away with this one. Hours after the Institute for Justice sued, the IRS agreed to return all $68,382.22. Two weeks later, it withdrew a grand jury subpoena demanding eight years of the bakery’s business records. Crazy that they tried to ruin a business over depositing money into their own bank account.

At some point in the last 15 years voters just stopped believing in tradeoffs all together
My childhood best friend, who has for years bitched that she can't afford to live in Nassau County, is supporting Blakeman because she thinks Democrats made Nassau too expensive. When I showed her the Blakeman clip, she said, "But that's a good thing that he made their homes worth more there. That's why I want to live there! That's why he'd be a great governor."
I tried to walk her through the logic that Blakeman is bragging about making Nassau County homes more expensive, and that is why she can't afford them, and she was just like "I don't see what has to do with it. He's talking about people who aren't selling their homes. He's talking about people who are living in their homes."
I just don't have the patience for this anymore.

Right but I think you have to remember the context here where “the media and police” are not independent institutions but in fact were totally subordinated to the preceding authoritarian regime.
“Purge” is a stupid choice of words, politically speaking, but if you come in and replace a tyrannical dictatorship, you obviously do in fact have to remove from power the people who made that dictatorship run, and who were its mouthpieces and its muscle
