AI is trained on data, and it emulates the examples it has seen to repeat it in a meaningful way. Creating new art, or fundamentally new pieces of data has been outside the scope of AI as it stands currently. Today, AI is a mathematical optimization of data.

Parenting small kids through this quarantine is a disaster. The kids are regressing, angry, and lonely. Everything I promised myself I wouldn't be as a father I've become. Not looking for sympathy, just saying it out loud because so many other parents are whispering their shame.

Being in the future often leads to anxiety. Being in the past often leads to depression. Being in the present through mindfulness/meditation stops you from being a perpetual time traveler, allowing you to take care of yourself in the moment.

The less reactive you are, the less control others have of you. Meditation makes you less reactive.

I'm 10y remote now and 99% of all interactions with my heavy remote / async teams are NOT done with calls / video. It almost all in writing. Everyone right now trying to optimize for voice / video communication is optimizing into the wrong thing.

Principles of decentralized media 1) Build your own distribution to avoid distortion. 2) Every company a media company. After content marketing comes full-stack narrative. 3) Don’t casually give information to your competitors. And media corporations are your competitors.

100% not something you can (or should) actually look at, but the gap in WFH productivity between those with kids and those without is going to be profound.

On ideas: "Why hasn't anyone done that?" is one of the best ways to kill the momentum of a fragile idea. "Has anyone done that idea really well?" is a better way to contribute & make it stronger.

It is the time for innovation - school bus routes are used to provide food instead of picking up kids, after school programs are starting online enrichment for kids, online communities are coming together to deliver necessities to people in need.

Thinking about a low cost easy to manufacture home test kit for #Coronavirus. Outline: #Nasal_swab (Q-tip) w/ freeze dried reagents for isothermal #DNA amplification with #COVID19 primers. Colorimetric readout by #iOS or #Android #App w/ #geolocation & #HIPPA compliant reporting.

Thread: #COVID19 #Coronavirus updates & data. I will repeat this, but really important: cases coming out of the US WILL EXPLODE in the coming days. This is NOT a cause for panic. These EXISTING cases are finally being diagnosed, since testing is now more broadly available. 1/
