25 years ago today, Balbir Singh Sodhi was tragically murdered while planting flowers outside his Mesa gas station β the first victim of a post-9/11 hate crime.
Arizona's Sikh community, and especially Balbir's brother Rana, turned this senseless tragedy into a powerful call for love, understanding, unity, and forgiveness.

He died under a fire truck when the South Tower fell. One of 343.
He chose her in the time it takes to put down a golf club.
