Was Israel Justified in Bombing Hamas Combatants in Their Homes?
Israel is accused of committing war crimes by killing Hamas & Palestinian Islamic Jihad commanders in their homes. With the release of NAZA, critics focus on the fact that Israel knowingly struck Hamas and PIJ combatant while civilians, including children, were present, perhaps even waiting until they returned home and calculated the expected collateral damage. They then pose their supposed decisive question: Would Israel consider it acceptable for its enemies to kill IDF soldiers in their homes?
Once again, Hamas' entire battlefield strategy is erased from the discussion and the question has to be turned back around: Where exactly was/is the IDF supposed to attack Hamas for it to be considered acceptable?
In its 400-mile tunnel network built beneath those same homes, hospitals and mosques? When Israel struck senior Hamas commander Ibrahim Biari in the tunnel network serving as the Jabalia Battalion HQ, it was condemned for causing excessive collateral damage when some buildings fell as a result. This is the prime example cited by NAZA director Yuval Abraham and that strike did not even target a home.
Should Israel attack Hamas in hospitals it used as military bases? No serious analyst denies Hamas used hospitals for military purposes, above and below ground, or that numerous Hamas combatants were killed inside them, confirmed by their own martyr notices, so it’s not credibly disputable at this point. Then the IDF is accused of "targeting healthcare" even as over 100 “healthcare workers” are now confirmed to have been combatants, again, according to their own martyr notices. What about schools, where once again Hamas and PIJ's own martyr notices confirm dozens of their operatives were based? Israel is then accused of targeting education.
I have challenged critics to name a single Hamas military base. Of course no one can do so. Now Google "List of Israel Defense Forces Bases." Everyone knows where they are, which is why Hezbollah was able to precisely strike the dining hall of the Golani training base in Oct 2024, killing four soldiers. Hamas has no conventional military bases, instead its military infrastructure is embedded in hospitals, schools, civilian homes, and mainly in massive tunnels with shafts opening into residential buildings. There is overwhelming documentation of this. At this point only the most committed Hamas apologists will deny it. Hamas combatants also fight in civilian clothes, deliberately erasing the distinction between military deployment and civilian life. They hide weapons under beds, a Hamas leader literally admitted this fact to a New York Times reporter (look it up).
So where exactly can a Hamas combatant be killed? Only when he is standing in an open field holding an RPG? What Israel’s critics effectively demand is no attack. Hamas should enjoy permanent immunity. The human shield strategy must be rewarded. This is one of the main subtexts of NAZA and its promoters.
And that is why NAZA actually demonstrates the opposite of what its promoters claim. The IDF's attempt to carefully calculate expected civilian casualties before striking Hamas commanders, even in their homes, is precisely a key element of the proportionality assessment required by the Laws of Armed Conflict. Perhaps striking a Hamas commander in his home, with known and assessed collateral damage, was preferable to striking him in a tunnel network and bringing down surrounding buildings. There is no doubt many civilians have been killed in Gaza, a tragic consequence of the war Hamas started and refused to end by surrendering and returning the hostages, and it is reasonable to assess and critique this.
Yet nobody promoting NAZA as evidence of Israeli war crimes or genocide will ever seriously examine Hamas' battlefield strategy or the alternatives available to the IDF. They condemn strikes on homes, tunnels, hospitals, and schools without ever explaining where Hamas should have been attacked instead. They demand that Israel distinguish Hamas combatants from civilians while ignoring that Hamas deliberately organized its entire military strategy to make that distinction virtually impossible to make cleanly, because it viewed civilian deaths as a strategic benefit as its leaders openly and often admitted (again, only the most committed Hamas apologists will deny this).
Now, back to the comparison with the IDF. Yes, it WOULD be acceptable for Israel's enemies to target IDF soldiers in their homes if the following were similarly true: (1) IDF soldiers did not officially transition from civilian life to military deployment as normal militaries do (2) IDF soldiers remained in civilian clothes and engaged in combat in civilian clothes (3) IDF soldiers never deployed to military bases (4) The IDF did not utilize clearly marked, sole-purpose military bases and buildings, but instead co-located them within or beneath civilian structures (5) The IDF stored military equipment in homes and rockets in schools instead of weapons depots at military bases (6) The IDF used hospitals and synagogues throughout Israel for direct military purposes. (Putting aside of course that Hamas would murder every Jew on earth if they had the ability, as if they wouldn't attack a home).
Expect the same theme to continue: the complete erasure of Hamas from the battlefield analysis.

Gaza Ministry of Health has now released mortality numbers for 2025. For the first time since the war, they give numbers for all deaths, including natural deaths.
In 2025 there were a total of 24,650 deaths in Gaza. 18,870 (76.6%) of these were violent, of which 17,286 (70.1%) were due to "war operations" and 1,584 (6.4%) were classified as accidents. There were a total of 5,780 (23.4%) non-violent deaths, including disease, old age, and all other causes.
5,780 deaths is about the same as the annual non-violent mortality in Gaza before the war, and the age distribution is similar to 2022. There is no significant excess of non-violent deaths.
In other words, despite frequent and loud claims to the contrary, there seems to be very few indirect deaths due to the war in Gaza in 2025.
As there were 50,227 births in 2025, this gives a natural population growth of 25,577 or 1.2% in Gaza in 2025, which is higher population growth than most countries in the world and more than the world average.
There are currently ~6,000 births/month in Gaza, per GMH. Assuming a similar number of non-violent deaths in Gaza in 2026 as in 2025, that means there are currently 12x more births than deaths in Gaza, and that Gaza is now experiencing one of the highest population growths in the world.
So firstly, no one has been convicted of genocide. Secondly, McDonalds global didn't give out anything, the local Israeli franchise holder did. Leave the poor social media person alone you cretin. And perhaps focus on UK issues instead of your Israel Derangement

As a Palestinian living in the US, I realized from day one that far too many of those who claim to be “fighting for Palestinian freedom” in the West are nothing than grifters who exploit our suffering, turn our cause into a trend, and use Palestinian pain to build their own platforms, careers, and audiences.
And the moment Palestinians themselves challenge their narrative, criticize Hamas, reject authoritarianism, or refuse to fit neatly into their ideological worldview, suddenly our Palestinian voices are no longer welcome—or worse, we are smeared as traitors for daring to think and speak for ourselves.
Here’s what’s never been asked, seriously, inside this so-called “pro-Palestinian” movement: what do you actually stand for?
A democratic Palestine? Free speech? Political pluralism? Equal rights? A two-state solution, one state, peace — or just permanent war rebranded as “resistance”?
Do Palestinian lives matter when Palestinians are murdered, tortured, imprisoned, or silenced by Hamas? Do our freedoms matter when the oppressor isn’t Israel? Do Palestinians get to decide our own political future, or are Western activists going to decide it for us while shouting slogans thousands of miles away?
Palestine is not your revolutionary cosplay. Palestinians are not props for your ideological fantasies. And our suffering is not a career opportunity.
If your “solidarity” requires Palestinians to shut up whenever our experiences contradict your politics and narrative, then you are the one who should shut the fuck up.

One of the worst things to happen to the Palestinian cause is the way a single, rigid narrative has been imposed—mostly by people who aren’t even Palestinian. There’s only one "acceptable" way to talk about our struggle, one set of opinions we’re allowed to hold. Step outside of it, and suddenly you’re “less Palestinian,” no longer part of the team.
And for many, that narrative isn’t even ours—it’s whatever Al Jazeera decides is the story. Whatever Qatar finds useful. If they say a certain leader or figure is the face of our struggle, we’re expected to idolize them, no questions asked. If they push a certain angle, we’re supposed to absorb it like gospel. The moment you think for yourself, you’re cast out.
But our reality is not a propaganda reel. It’s complicated, painful, full of contradictions. And we should be able to talk about that—our own mistakes, our own internal struggles—without being accused of betrayal.
A movement that demands blind loyalty instead of honest reflection is doomed to repeat its failures. If your idea of “supporting Palestine” means silencing Palestinians who think critically, then maybe you’re not supporting Palestine at all—you’re just following orders.

Radical pragmatism: Israel is here to stay; one can't be pro-Palestine and pro-Hamas; The Oslo years were just one short chapter in the pursuit of peace, and the Palestinian Authority does not embody the full potential of nonviolence and reconciliation as a political strategy 🇵🇸
As we wait and witness the horrors of more war for Gazans and the devastation of the hostage families waiting for loved ones, it is clear that the only way out of this is a new vision entirely, one premised on a radical pragmatism - something our Director @Afalkhatib breaks down for us. These are just some of the precepts that will lead us towards peace.
Tell us what you think - what radically pragmatic steps must be undertaken before we can reach peace? Why is it pragmatic?

Notice a curious thing: the United States has been bombing Yemen relentlessly for almost a week yet we have only a vague estimate of the casualties. "Dozens dead" and "some women and children." Yet in Gaza, we get exact numbers each evening. Why is that?

I wonder, will the ICC issue arrest warrants for any of the responsible for halting the Humanitarian assistance to Yemen?
After all, the ICC issued such warrants for @IsraeliPM and @yoavgallant based on demonizing lies of war crime of starvation as a method of warfare, despite of the fact that Israel facilitated delivery of almost 1 Million ton of food to Gaza, most of it confiscated by Hamas terrorists.
We haven't seen any case of starvation in Gaza, but contrary to the blood libel against Israel, we have seen mass starvation in Yemen in the last few years.
On Monday the United Nations announced that it was suspending all humanitarian operations in a large Houthi-controlled area in northern Yemen.
I wonder, what will the ICC do about it (no, I don't really wonder). – at Budapest, Hungary

I’m not Jewish, but there’s a reason that I’ve risked everything to speak up for the Jewish community.
And when I say everything, I mean everything. I mean being blocked by friends that I grew up with, unfollowed by most friends and associates, accused of being a spy for the Mossad, IRGC, CIA etc, having my family accused of the same and having their lives put at risk to the extent of having to contact the FBI, being subjected to unthinkable smears, conspiracies, and rumors that are intended to blacklist me from everywhere and by everyone, but I still speak up despite it all, you know why?
Because the same time that Jews had to watch their children being shot and kidnapped on October 7
Is the same time they had to watch half the world protest against the existence of their tiny Jewish state that is their only refuge from global genocide
Is the same time they had to watch their friends, associates, celebrities, and the world’s body politic post paragliders in celebration of their massacre
Is the same time they had to watch their synagogues go up in flames amid renewed pogroms in Europe
Is the same time they had to be banned and blacklisted as persona non gratas of the world by trading the word “Jews” for “Zionists”
Is the same time they had to be pushed back by human chains on college campuses and beaten unconscious for defying chants for their death
Is the same time they had to watch a mentally ill rapper tell millions of his followers that he loves Hitler and supports the Holocaust
Is the same time they had to watch the likes of Dan Bilzerian, Candace Owens, Jake Shields, and the rest of the “woke right” claim “Jewish supremacy” is the world’s biggest problem by citing obscure texts of the Talmud & claiming to “seek truth” while regurgitating antisemitic Soviet disinformation to justify their persecution
Is the same time they had to watch the woke left claim that the victims of Islamist extremism deserved the October 7 horrors because their grandparents who fled Nazi Germany back to Palestine in refugee boats were actually “white colonizers”
All while the world looks on and glibly asks, “what antisemitism?”
That’s why I speak up.
The most important thing I’ve realized is that nobody can take from you what doesn’t belong to them.
They can silence, intimidate, threaten, and accuse you, but they can never take away the power of your voice when it bellows into the scorched earth the last hopeful, fragmented glimmers of truth.
That belongs to you and nobody else, and in our lifetime, it may never be more important than now.

The United Nations was founded as a forum of governments. This arrangement presented enough problems of its own. Now the UN, in contravention of its own charter, is rapidly evolving into a predatory, undemocratic, unaccountable, and self-serving vehicle for global government. The UN is unweildy, gross, inefficient, and incompetent. In addition, it is configured as to reach deep into the national politics of its member states and, by sheer weight and persistence, to force at least some of the worst of its agenda upon them all.
Let’s scratch the surface of the UNs gross human rights violations : A 🧵
The UN Human Rights Office is under fire for sharing the names of Chinese government opponents, including Uighur activists, Tibetans and Hongkongers, who took part in UN activities, for a long period.
The names of 50-70 people who are opponents of the Chinese government were handed over and among them are 8-9 people with US citizenship and 5-6 with German citizenship.

In September 2013, when Chinese human rights activist Cao Shunli tried to fly to Geneva to attend a session of the UN human rights council (UNHRC). Cao had submitted information on extralegal detention and torture in China to the UN and expressed the hope that if she could get even “50 or 100 words” into a UN report, “many of our problems could start to get addressed”.
Cao never made the flight. Police took her away at the airport, detained her for six months, and denied her medical treatment despite repeated warnings from her lawyer that her health was deteriorating, until it was too late. Doctors at the hospital expressed shock at her condition; it seemed she had simply been left to die in her cell. No state agent has been punished for her death.
Ten other Chinese activists, journalists, scholars, and lawyers are on a medical watchlist of political prisoners, launched after Cao’s death to draw attention to China’s practice of torture by withholding medical treatment.
The Chinese government under Xi Jinping has so far faced no meaningful repercussions internationally for the deaths in custody of prisoners of conscience. Domestically, state agents have enjoyed total impunity while family members, lawyers, friends, and supporters have been threatened, disappeared, detained, or tortured.
In fact, after Cao’s death, the UN general assembly re-elected China to the UN human rights council in 2016 by a greater number of votes than in 2013. Chinese Communist party mouthpiece the People’s Daily proudly heralded it as proof that China’s human rights progress had “received widespread approval from the international community”.
It's just so important to these people that Israel is found guilty of "genocide".
"War crimes" would be bad enough (not suggesting they're guilty of this but it's possible) but it seems vital to these people that it's "genocide". Why?
