DIVISION TWO//ROUND UP A look back at Saturday’s eight Division Two games. Here we go! 👇 @AFCNewbiggin v @FC_Hartlepool 📊RESULT// AFC Newbiggin 1-3 FC Hartlepool Matty Nelson put the hosts ahead on seven minutes as he netted for the first time since late August to claim his 8th league goal of the season. Debutant Carl Williams headed the visitors level on 14 minutes as he scored his first for his new club, 1-1. Aiden Chaney headed against the post from a corner but Lewis Green did double FC’s lead on 38 minutes, the skipper lobbing home for 2-0. Williams grabbed his second of the afternoon just four minutes into the second half to make it 3-1 with his 9th league goal of the season after seven for former club Stokesley SC. Green rattled the post with a well struck drive but there was now further addition to the scoreline. Biggin have now lost three on the bounce in league action - their longest losing run of the season - as they fell to a third home league loss of the season. They stayed in 6th place, but four points outside the playoff berths. FC halted a four league game winless run as they collected a fourth away league victory of the season. They jumped three places into 10th. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 2-1 home win and the travelling FC flipped that almost perfectly on its head. Next @CABoldon v @SeatonCarewFC 📊RESULT// Boldon CA 4-2 Seaton Carew Craig Linsel put the visitors ahead after a bright start from the home team, but Seaton’s No9 claimed his sixth league goal of the season from the edge of the box. Callum Larmouth struck the post but James Fairley brought the hosts level on 22 minutes after he found the bottom corner from Liam Thear’s low centre. Kingston Butler edged the visitors back in front on 26 minutes as he tapped home at the back post but Liam Thear’s 43rd minute goal would take the sides into the break back all square. Larmouth struck a free kick into the chest of Seaton stopper Matty Wilkinson as both sides failed to create a clear cut second half chance. But Fairley showed his quality when he put the hosts ahead with seven to play, the experienced forward lashing home from a Callum Hughes pass for 3-2. Hughes then rubbered stamped the win as he netted Boldon’s fourth in the fourth minute of added time. Boldon returned to winning league ways as a 7th home league win of the season saw them stay on pace with the top two. The hard earned three points kept them in 3rd. Seaton dropped a place to 8th after a third away league defeat of the season. Back to back league losses for the Seatonians for the second time this campaign. 🔮PREDICTION// 💥💥BANG ON💥💥 ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY PERFECT!!! Maybe a few eyebrows were raised with our 4-2 shout but it was on the nose! Callum Hughes is a prince among men!! GERRIN!!! Next @CestrianTweet v @AlnwickTownAFC 📊RESULT// Chester le Street Town 2-0 Alnwick Town The visitors should have taken an early lead but Euan Potts’ shot hit the post after he rounded Max Campbell in the home net. Charlie Hindson did put the Cestrians ahead on 9 minutes, firing home after good work from Scott Robson to claim his first goal of the season. Campbell saved well from Potts as the first half came to an end with the hosts one up. Jordan Lavery doubled the Cestrians’ lead just three minutes into the second half as he sent Michael Hogan the wrong way with a 48th minute penalty after Robson had been fouled. Two games, two spotkicks for Lavery. Robson almost added a third at the death but his well struck effort was smartly saved by Hogan. The Cestrians jumped three places up to 9th as they recorded a fifth home league victory of the season. Max Campbell with his fifth league clean sheet as Town won three league games on the bounce for the first time this season. Alnwick’s goal drought reached 283 minutes, almost 4 ¾ hours, as they lost for the third successive game. Their 6th away league loss saw them drop a place to 15th. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 4-3 home win and boy were we a little ambitious on the goals front. Correctly called the outcome to save a little face. Small wins. Next @DarloTownFC v @NewcastleUniAFC 📊RESULT// Darlington Town 5-4 Newcastle University Kye Perkins gave the visitors the perfect start as his first goal of the season gave the Uni a second minute lead. Uni skipper Adam Redford was sent to the sin bin on 15 minutes and Jack Stapley took advantage to bring the hosts back level almost immediately with his first Town goal. The visitors edged back ahead through a Dan Kemp penalty on 25 minutes, and he then made it 3-1 36 minutes. A slow comparatively slow start to the second half was ended as Jack McLaren added a fourth for the Uni on 57 but Ben Jackson pulled a goal back for Town just two minutes later - his first for the club - as he drifted past a couple of defenders before finding the to corner. Nathan Stephenson then brought the hosts back to within one with a 61st minute goal - his 11th league goal of the season - a fine drive from twenty yards. Recent acquisition Oscar Taylor then levelled things up on 76 minutes after being slid in by Will Maddison. Taylor then completed a remarkable comeback for the host to make it 5-4 with nine left to play. But a fourth nine goal Division Two game ended in favour of the hosts. Darlo's fightback extended their unbeaten league run to five games as they clinched a fifth home league victory of the season. Three players with their first Town goals as they claimed the three points to move up a place to 7th. The Uni saw a three game winning streak come to an end as they suffered a third away league loss of the season. They dropped two places to 11th. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 2-2 draw and while that was never close we had a feeling the game would be and have a few goals. Just not nine. Next @RACAFC1970 v @jarrow_fc 📊RESULT// Ryton & Crawcrook Albion 0-1 Jarrow Goalless at the half. Ryton had a great opportunity to open the scoring just three minutes into the second half but visiting stopper Jak Well dived to his right to save Louis Anderson’s penalty. Jack Armstrong was the match winner as he headed home Kieran Beattie’s back post cross home three minutes into added time. Ethan Bewley was shown a late red card to compound the home side's disappointment. Ryton dropped to 12th as they fell to a fifth home league defeat of the season - that was a fourth league defeat in a row. They have failed to score in three league games. Jarrow extended the only unbeaten record in Division Two to 16 league games. Armstrong’s goal was their fourth past the 90th minute mark and earned them a 7th away league win to stay in 2nd place - three points adrift of leaders Billingham Town. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 3-1 away win, and while we were a little ambitious with the goals we called the correct outcome. Next @SeahamRedStar v @UnitedDurham 📊RESULT// Seaham Red Star 3-0 Durham United Tom Lawson gave the hosts a 23rd minute lead with his second league goal of the season, a lead which they would hold at the half. Red Star had a little breathing room when Reece Blakely fired home just before the hour mark to make it 2-0. Jack Leonard then wrapped it up when he made it 3-0 on 74 minutes. Seaham eased to their fifth home league victory of the season on the back of Shaun Newbrook’s fourth league shutout - and their fifth league clean sheet of the campaign. They moved up two places to 13th as their lose one-win one cycle reached a third round. Durham lost a fourth league game in a row as they failed to score for a fifth league game - only Prudhoe YC Seniors have more blanks. This was their fifth defeat on their league travels. They stayed in 20th place, four points adrift of safety. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 2-1 home win and while we got the right outcome we expected a closer game. Ah well. Next @SunderlandRCA v @Prudhoeycfc 📊RESULT// Sunderland RCA 4-0 Prudhoe YC Seniors RCA started brightly amid penalty shouts and a fine stop from visiting keeper Thom White. Michael Harland and Tobi Rufai went close for Seniors. Owen Imeson then crashed a shot off the crossbar at the other end. But Imeson did give the hosts the lead on the half hour as he flicked home a header from a Kyle Fryatt centre. Just three minutes later Imeson made it two after John Anderson closed down the away keeper. Imeson then completed a four minute hat trick when, on 34 minutes, he turned smartly to lash home from 12 yards - he now has nine league goals for the season. Anderson then completed an ideal half for the host when he added a fourth two minutes before the break. A goalless second half followed but the game was won inside the first 45. RCA claimed just a second home league win of the season as they hit four goals for the first time. They stayed in 16th place despite the three points. Prudhoe have now lost three on the bounce as they failed to score for an 11th league game. A 7th away league defeat keeps them in 19th place three points adrift of Stokesley SC in 18th. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 2-1 home win and it had a chance for all of four first half minutes. Next @Towlawtown v @Synthonia 📊RESULT// Tow Law Town 6-1 Billingham Synthonia Ryan Wright’s first Tow Law goal gave the hosts a ninth minute lead. Gareth McMahon doubled that lead on 18 minutes as he netted for the second game running. The Lawyers would head into the break three up after Reece Brown fired home with the clock showing 45+2 minutes. Jake Wilson added a fourth for the hosts on 80 minutes, just ten minutes after coming off the bench, to claim his first goal of the season. Then despite Sam Irvine being sent to the naughty step on 83 minutes, Charlie Raby pulled a goal back for Synners. However Brown claimed his second of the afternoon, and fifth of the season, 90 minutes to settle it, before Ben Cleland put the cherry on the top with a sixth two minutes into added time. The Lawyers are unbeaten in six in league action after a fourth win on the bounce. They hit six goals for the first time this season to claim a 6th league victory at Ironworks Road. They moved up to 4th place, overtaking Park View who had the weekend off. Synners dropped three places to 14th as they suffered their biggest defeat of the season - and a third away league loss. Just one win in six now in league action. 🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 2-0 home win. Correct outcome and the goals are immaterial right? Yes, move on. Unbelievable effort from the lads! 16 games unbeaten in the league since we started in July!!
There are 1,085 football teams in the English football pyramid from the Premier League down to the 10th Tier (Step 6 of Non-League). Now that we are roughly 3 months into the current football season, we thought we would take a look to see which teams are still undefeated. Big shout-out to Tier 10 Jarrow FC, who are currently on the longest unbeaten run with 16 matches! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Jarrow have played 16, won 11 and drawn 5. The last team to go a whole league campaign undefeated was Farnham Town in the 2023/24 Combined Counties Premier Division South (Tier 9), finishing as "Invincibles" with a record of 35 wins and 3 draws! The best current runs of the rest this season are as follows; Tier 10 Clipstone F.C P13 W12 D1 Tier 9 Fleet Town FC P13 W12 D1 National League Boreham Wood Football Club P 13 W 11 D2. ℹ️//TODAY//FIXTURE//NL2 @RACAFC1970 v @jarrow_fc Comp: Northern League Division Two Venue: Oldhaulage Stadium, NE40 3SN Kick Off: 3pm 📈CURRENT FORM// Ryton & Crawcrook Albion 10th | DWLLLL - Have now lost three league games on the bounce following a 4-3 defeat away at Chester le Street Town last weekend. Goals from Aaron Costello & Joe Groves-Forbes twice levelled for Albion before a late Keros Lizinde goal brought them to within one in added time. At home in league action they have won 5/9 games, with four defeats completing their currently draw-less NL2 record at the Oldhaulage. Jarrow 2nd | WWWWLL - Return to league action after two 1-0 cup defeats, including a Vase defeat at neighbours Boldon CA in the Vase at the weekend. They return to league action looking to extend the only unbeaten record in Division Two - fifteen league games, ten wins. Their last league outing was a 4-0 victory away at AFC Newbiggin, Stephen Siyanbola with a brace on that occasion - he has 14 league goals for the season to lead the Division Two scoring charts. They have won 6/8 league games on the road, with two draws rounding out their unbeaten current NL2 away record. They are the division’s top scorers with 43 goals from their 15 league games - an average of 2.79 goals scored per league outing. They have been most productive in the last fifteen minutes of the first half with 10 goals in that 31-45+ minute window. They have yet to concede a league goal in the first OR last fifteen minutes. ⏪THIS SEASON// No previous league meeting this season. 🔙LAST SEASON// Jarrow took the spoils in the corresponding league fixture last season as they ran out 2-0 winners at the Oldhaulage. Lutfur Karim opened the scoring on 22 minutes for Jarra, and he claimed his second goal of the afternoon on 33 minutes. 🔮OUR PREDICTION// Jarra's unbeaten league record and firepower has to make them favourites, and those claims are strengthened as Ryton arrive on a three-game losing run. The hosts are stronger at home than recent results suggest, but Siyanbola and company have been too consistent to ignore. Albion 1-3 Jarra Comments, Likes & Reposts are very much appreciated.
