I am not saying that I necessarily believe the reports that the Habs are looking into Scheifele and that Kucherov is an option if he doesn't re-sign.
However, the Habs need villains. Villains help you win the Cup. The fact Habs fans hate them is kind of the point...
The All-Star Game location is a major announcement for every sports league that exists.
Even more-so for a league's first where there is CBA-mandated compensation for such an event that didn't exist for the league's first three seasons.

I don't think these networks who paid a lot of money for the rights to broadcast games realize how dire the situation will be when, like, three people who are holding up the broadcast standards for the industry retire.
So great that these new streaming platforms are really doing everything they can to find and give a platform to new, young voices who haven't had the opportunities with the major networks.
Instead they take a guy literally out of retirement that didn't even last the off-season.

Cole: 1.04 PPG without (28 GP) / 0.96 PPG with
Lane: 0.93 PPG without (29 GP) / 0.81 PPG with
Again, no indication teams play harder against the smallest skill players.
There has never been a bigger gap between fan appreciation for a player and role to the team as Arber Xhekaj is becoming.
Xhekaj was a perfectly fine bottom pairing defender when the team was rebuilding (and genuinely one of the organization's best stories, possibly ever) (1/2)
