Drive manufacturers use decimal. 1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. Divide that by a binary GB (1,073,741,824 bytes, or 2^30) and you get 931 GB. Binary gigabytes are actually gibibytes (GiB), which Windows calculates in GiB but labels as GB.
Clear as mud.
Turns out it was me.

Thanks for the pizza @hark_labs! It wasn’t exactly smooth but Hark pulled it off. You can’t give away a million dollars in pizza without getting your servers slammed.
We're giving away $1,000,000 of free pizza right now
Download and order from the Hark app: hark.com/download
Type "order a free pizza" in chat. It's first-come, first-served, delivered only in the U.S. (review details below)
Guys I'm leaning heavy into Hermes Bots to compare it with Grok Bots.
The experience you get with Grok Bots is that a bot can delegate to another bot, which will do the work, and report back to the orchestrator. All the while you can still chat with the specialist bots directly and they can handle additional requests.
With Hermes bots, if an orchestrator bot requests something from another bot, they have the back and forth conversation, but the receiving bot's canonical chat becomes blocked. If I try to talk to it, it says the chat is open somewhere else.
Is this the expected behavior?
I don't like it.
My workaround is that I can teach the orchestrator bot to run it's own subprocess calling the specialist bot's profile. That works, but that's not a very bot-like experience. That's just a TUI experience in a GUI.
Meanwhile, I asked my main grok bot (Ellis) to give a long technical research task to the CTO bot and while it's working, ask it another question. While it was working on the long research question, it handled a second short request from the main bot (a wifi question) and one from me (a disk space question) in it's own chat. Then it finished up the research and reported it back. The screenshot is the CTO's chat.
That's the experience I want.
I don't mean to be critical of Hermes. I want so badly for it to work for me. It does other stuff really really well.
Am I missing something @NousResearch @witcheer?
Maybe this is where something like @OpenMausBot can help. It wasn't clear to me how it fits into the picture with it's own hermes support when hermes has bots. I'm realizing that hermes doesn't really have bots the way Grok has bots.
I'm getting pretty frustrated fighting with the different bot's computer web browsers (all of them), including my own local headless setups.
I'm testing out @browserOS_ai neo. I installed it in a VM on proxmox.
So far so good. I'll report back.
Question for you Hermes people: After long sessions working on stuff, I'm always scared to just shut down like I'll lose some important bit of learning. I always prep the bot..."I'm starting a new session, anything you need to do first?" Is that necessary?
Like asking the kids if they need to go potty before a road trip.
Since nobody sees my posts (I know, wah)... @witcheer @tonysimons ?
