The ABC didn't seem to care about allegations against Russell Brand when he was known as a lefty. I wonder what changed? There is no excuse for the behaviour he is accused of. None.

For nearly 1,500 years, a 180-foot (55-meter) Buddha stood carved into a cliff in Afghanistan. In March 2001, the Taliban destroyed it.
The Great Buddha of Bamiyan was carved in the early 7th century along the ancient Silk Road. It was one of two colossal standing Buddhas surrounded by Buddhist monasteries, shrines, and painted caves.
Both statues were destroyed in 2001. Today, their enormous empty niches remain, showing the scale of what was lost.
The Bamiyan Valley was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.

Australian eSafety Commissioner struggles to explain why the new government Digital Duty of Care Bill would allow her office to generate child sexual abuse material.
Section 205K (2) of the Bill permits that “in addition the Commissioner may use sock puppet identities to test whether an online service is able to, or allows users to, generate (including by means of artificial intelligence) material the production, dissemination or possession of which is an offence against a law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory.”
