Was a pleasure being part of this incredible film and sharing my experiences as someone with Dyslexia & Dysprixia working in TV. The industry has so much it needs to improve on in terms of access, and this film raises lots of important issues in a positive and inspiring way 👇

This crisis is arguably already impacting what we see on our screens. Mid level TV has gone, the soaps are disappearing. If we can’t invest in sustaining our industry through storms like this, then the future is bleak, on screen and off.
Extraordinary for the BBC to admit, in written evidence to Parliament, that it can't film greenlit dramas because of big funding gaps. This may seem slightly inside baseball, but we should all care because it will eventually impact quality on-screen. deadline.com/2025/01/bbc-ala…

Another great thread from @PhilipRalph9 👇
Alive in ’25? After a year of raising awareness about the crisis in TV, over the Christmas break I came up with one possible solution. Here's an idea I've been mulling on how to help revive UK TV drama for existing and new creatives... I'd love your thoughts. 🧵

It’s disingenuous at best to treat thousands of highly skilled TV makers like gig economy delivery drivers. The link between broadcasters and freelancers needs to be one of mutual support and respect. Freelancers aren’t responsible for the contraction in commissions. Support us.

It’s good to see the BBC continue to cover the ongoing crisis for @Bectu freelancers working in TV 📺 but workers don’t want platitudes and empty promises they need solutions from industry and Government 👇

Terrific to see the mighty @jackthorne speaking out against the devastating cuts to the sustainable heart of TV drama this past few years. We can change things for the better if we work together. Time for creatives to get creative and #Survive&Thrivein25

A lot of my friends keep saying to me things like “but there is so much good TV” or “we’ve got more choice than ever” but the harsh reality as outlined in my recent chats with @PhilipRalph9 & @HanBeaugeardTV is stark for the UK TV industry atm. Change is needed 🚨
