My family and I are penalized because I had to work extra jobs to make ends meet. SS is reduced by 2/3! Please repeal WEP. It hurts teachers and their families! @JohnCornyn @repealWEP #teacher
Replying to @JohnCornyn
@JohnCornyn Please support & sponsor S.1302 to #RepealGPO & #RepealWEP. It hurts public employees. It’s a financial penalty & consequence for career changers into public service, like me. I became a #teacher & my earned #SocialSecurity is nearly forfeited. @RepealWEP_GPO

When the pioneers of calculus discovered that all the functions they were familiar with — like sines and cosines, along with exponential functions — could be converted into the universal currency of “power series,” they noticed startling coincidences. quantamagazine.org/how-infin…

Can’t thank Emporia enough for the hospitality they extended my family and friends. It was great having them there to share in the event.
Almost 30 years ago I started showing my #APCalculus classes the movie #StandandDeliver to show them that #hardworkpaysoff
Never thought that I would be in the @TeachersHall with Jamie Escalante the AP Calc teaching #GOAT
Thank you to my students who got me here
#grateful
So great to finally get to see the National Teachers Hall of Fame in Emporia, Kansas. Even better to see my students items being displayed. Thank you @TeachersHall

A little piece I wrote for @QuantaMagazine -- hope you enjoy it! It starts with a famous puzzle posed to Johnny von Neumann about two bicycles and a fly.

December 7th is a special day in my #APCalculus class. It is Larry Bird Day. A time to recognize that #hardwork and #determination bring success. Larry may not have been the most athletic player, but no one worked harder. He showed the blueprint how to be successful. @celtics
The celebration was even better today as 2 of my former students turned colleagues, @mathletically_e & @demolles15 came to tell their younger calculus siblings what Larry Bird day means to them. @celtics
