20 years in Hayes Valley this month. Thanks to everyone in San Francisco & around the world for visiting @isotopecomics and sharing our passion for great writing and art with us.

27 years in California today. I’m totally living the dream. Going to punk shows at (newly reopened) Mabuhay Gardens, like shows I watched on VHS as a kid. Driving the wine country backroads. My comic store’s 25th anniversary party on Saturday. Loving California more than ever.

Today @ my beloved comic store @isotopecomics : Meet Steve Horton, author of BOWIE: STARDUST, RAYGUNS & MOONAGE DAYDREAMS - the greatest David Bowie biography of all time? Of course I’m biased but - yes! 3pm-6pm. @tropicalsteve #davidbowie #sanfransisco #sanfranciscoauthorevent

Going to SDCC? Preview the upcoming documentary film about legendary publisher / underground cartoonist Denis Kitchen - and you’ll get to see me tell my wild (and true!) Ed Gein story!

Celebrating my shop’s 25th anniversary with the awesome comic creator we first featured a quarter of a century ago! And another crazy 2026 “color-blind” flyer made on my busted computer monitor. These art experiments are in tribute to a two of my color-blind friends who passed.

I’m looking forward to this event at my shop @isotopecomics. This year I invited in all the comic-making kids who we’ve featured over the years for #fcbd. Excited some of them are going to be making a return! Our 2009 star Basie (MASKED MUTANT) is turning 29 this year?! Crazy.

H.R. Giger Bar (Graubünden) in Chur, Switzerland. First stop on our epic Giger / Absinthe / Circus / da-da trip last November. Giger’s oldest establishment in the town where he was born, Switzerland’s oldest city. His demo tape for his even greater masterpieces to come...

Finally completed this VHS set. Been waiting years and years to rewatch until I had the first one. Still got my total beast of a vintage VCR (Toshiba W614) hooked up and ready to go.

One week ago today. At Maison de l’Absinthe in the village of Môtiers, my mind awash in wormwood and my brain out to pasture, in the backyard I meet another Heidi. Photo by @kirstenbaldock.

True Scandinavian Black Sweater Metal band LUSEKOFTE returns for 10-year reunion at the 2025 “Rave From The Grave” warehouse party. First time these Norwegian & Icelandic sweaters seen on American soil since Halloween eve 2015. “Are you woolen? Ugh!” #NoFalseSweaters

My entire life is filled with exciting Adventures In Time & Space… but some days more than others! Happy Halloween from the 5th Doctor! (my gorgeous Peter Davidson DOCTOR WHO outfit is a handmade original by @kirstenbaldock) #doctorwho #5thdoctor

For International Floppy Disk Day 2025 I released a fresh HyperCard art portfolio featuring my 1-bit dither-art. Including new art (Rico Dredd, Lara Croft, Gary Numan, etc) & more for your sexy Classic Mac. And now available to folks who don’t Disk Drive! theisotope.itch.io/hypercult…

Happy 95th birthday, Shel Silverstein (1930-1999)! I idolized him as a little kid. Years later we were on first-name basis thanks to my local comic shop. Best moment was the time Shel made me look like a total rockstar in front of my ex who had dumped me. (laugh) Love you, Shel!

So inspired for some “Atomic Funhose” with my synth-glam band, HOLOGLAM, featuring Piranha Psychotronica + Kirsten Baldock. What better time to re-glamorize the universe?! Music video and EP coming in 2026.

Here’s a sneak peek at the Harley Quinn t-shirts I made for the ARKHAM ASYLUM VAUDEVILLE stage production at @eclecticboxsf this October! Each are hand made and unique pieces of wearable art crafted in my old school punk rock stencil style. #harleyquinn #arkhamasylum #stencilart

Thanks to Nick Taras, Ken Kneisel, Ed Luce, Daniel Billo, Scott Wilson & Kirsten for helping with the 16-foot ladder!

Meet 11-Year Old Comic Creator, Amelie Anderson! SPEYEDER is Amelie’s surrealist comic about young love & a young girl’s struggle to resist “Speyeder” the metaphysical manifestation of the inner critic. A full gallery show of her original art + signing & sketching by Amelie!
