Just finished another all-night Atlantic crossing in the C-141. Black ocean below, stars so sharp they look like ice crystals, cockpit bathed in that soft red glow from the instruments.
Then it happens.
You’re somewhere east of Greenland when the horizon starts to bleed orange. A few minutes later, the sun claws its way up and hits you square in the face like a goddamn laser. No gentle sunrise out here—just a white-hot stab right through your eyeballs. You’re already half-delirious from hours of ocean boredom and too much coffee, and suddenly it feels like someone’s holding a blowtorch to your retinas.
Sunglasses? Useless.
Still feels like it’s burning a hole through your skull. You just squint, lean into it, and keep the nose pointed east while the whole cockpit turns gold and your eyes water like you’re crying for home. Throw up some aviation charts or today’s newspaper. Anything.
Nothing quite like it. Pure aviation poetry wrapped in temporary blindness. And I loved it!❤️

On national media she recited the 70-percent herd-immunity script that treated holdouts as obstacles to “the village.”
She did not need a lab coat to lend corporate respectability to jab-or-else employment terms.
The woman lecturing America about communal duty is married to George Lucas, moves between Skywalker Ranch and billionaire boards, and later joined the Walton-Penner group that bought the Denver Broncos. Baristas clocking shifts for tips faced a deadline; she faced deferred stock units and a JPMorgan directorship that paid six figures in cash plus a quarter-million in equity. When the science on transmission quietly collapsed, the mandate vanished and the résumé stayed pristine. No charges, no apology, just another committee.
Herd immunity was never her job. Compliance theater was.

In Spokane, government is making fire victims pay for crackpipes and heroin needles for homeless drug addicts, but they refuse to waive demolition fees for fire victims, forcing them to pay for permits to clear their own burned out properties. Don't let communists run anything.
The city of Spokane is refusing to waive demolition permit fees for fire victims. After losing EVERYTHING, victims have to pay $500 to cap the water and sewer lines under their burned out house. What the fuck is the point of paying taxes? Just like California, Washington uses taxpayer dollars to buy crackpipes and heroin needles for unemployed homeless drug zombies, but when you, the working class taxpayer, lose everything you have through no fault of your own, you still have to pay for this?
These city leaders are so fucking petty they'll still force fire victims to pay $35 for permission to demolish their own destroyed home. Why? You couldn't just waive it? For $35? Yeah, it's not a lot of money, but that actually makes it worse...forcing a fire victim to cough up a meager sum that in NO way actually funds the process in any meaningful way just shows that you are doing it out of spite. Just a nice little "fuck you" to the peasants.
Additionally, the state of Washington is forcing fire victims to pay sales tax to replace the items they lost in the fire. Again...why? The state was never factoring in that revenue...it never existed on the balance sheet BUT for the fire. Government is collecting a windfall from people's LOSSES. There's literally zero need to collect taxes on shit that people already owned.
Back during the mid 90's floods, the state legislature passed a sales tax exemption for victims replacing their stuff. If they don't do this in their next leg session, they all need to go. The one thing WA did is cut property tax on their burned out homes, which is the absolute least they could do.
You assholes never maintain your forests, everybody lost everything, their pets burned alive, and now you're going tack on an extra 9.1% to the cost of rebuilding their lives...for what? Not to mention the fact that a couch today costs probably 2x as much as when they first bought the one they just lost. I fucking hate these people, man.

Secretary Kennedy: “If you have a piece of tissue paper, you can use it to wipe your eye, to clean your glasses, blow your nose, and as toilet paper.”
“In fact, you could do that with the same piece, but the sequence is really important.”
Secretary Kennedy says he recognizes the frustration among some in the medical freedom and MAHA movements, that change has not come as quickly as they have hoped.
His message: transforming the federal government takes time. When taking the steps to do so, the order matters.
Procedures must be followed, laws must be respected, and good science cannot be rushed.
Move too quickly, and those changes could be short lived and Secretary Kennedy says he would be out of a job.
But he also says that the movement has support at the highest levels of government, saying MAHA has “friends in the White House.”
And as the process moves forward, he says the science and lasting reforms will follow.

A lot of people have been conditioned to fear influenza and treat another injection as the only answer.
A recent Cleveland Clinic study of more than 51,000 staff found the existing flu shots had a negative efficacy of about 27%.
That doesn't just mean they failed to help.
It means vaccinated staff were more likely to get the flu.

The painting is Joan of Arc, made by the French artist Jules Bastien-Lepage in 1879, and it hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
