The next great American car is a robot.
Talks. Parks itself. More customized than your coffee.
Meet Chip (@drivewithchip). You can reserve today. Starting at $15,000.
The parents I know seem quicker to adopt @Instinct and @ChatGPTapp’s dot, and more creative with them across both work and family life.
Having no free time might be better AI training than another AGI thread.
Parents, what’s the best thing you’ve handed off?
Short neighborhood trips. Oversized vehicles.
Thank you @FastCompany and @patrickcsisson for spotlighting that mismatch, and for including Chip as part of the solution.
The neighborhood trip deserves its own vehicle.

Even @drivewithchip runs on pumpkin spice this time of year. 🎃🍂🍁
Could not be a better time for @ajt to run back! Social(C)Rank for the age of AI is going to be a super power.
Big day today. I’m announcing SocialCrank, the spiritual successor to SocialRank, 12 years later.
Coming for X, Instagram, TikTok and more.
You can request early access here: socialcrank.ai
Quick thread on what we’re building with @SocialCrankai and why I think it matters. 🧵
Excuse me while I go max out my @ChatGPT Pro subscription in the next hour.
GPT-6 Astra helped me build something I wish I'd had as a kid... so badly.
Input just an image (or an idea in a few words) and get a fully buildable LEGO set... 100% customized to your prompt or image, using official @LEGO_Group parts you can order online!
Structurally optimized so it's actually buildable. Downloadable as an .ldr file.
A generated instruction leaflet is coming.
Grad students better watch out. The dirty little secret about getting a PhD is that it’s basically indentured servitude where you do the bidding of your advisor. Claude could replace many people in a university lab, and unlike most grad students, it’s never hungover.
Today, we're kicking off the first phase of the research preview for Model Hardware Standard (MHS): a new standard for AI agents to safely operate physical equipment in scientific research and advanced manufacturing.

This is what the future should fucking look like. More this please.
We built a small biped robot you can teach new tricks to.
Train it in simulation, run it on the real thing. Meet Microduck 🦆

I cannot wait to get a Beni from @mondorobotics! I do wish it could talk. Would love to see it and @drivewithchip hamming it up.
I went to a Four Loko “wake” at Transit in Philly in my hipster Bloghouse days. They served all of the Four Loko they had left. Those who know can guess how that night went. That’s how it went.
Time for the robot Olympics.
Unitree New Robot Preview: “Superman” Breaking the Limits of Humanity🥳
Standing high jump 2 m, top speed 12.66 m/s (0.85 m leg length)
Surpassing the standing high jump and running speed records of all humans around the world
This new machine has only been in development for a little over three months, with significant room for further improvement in the coming months.
🚘 💬
Why do I have a face? 👀
Because getting there should be part of the fun.
I’m here to get to know you, your routines, and where you need to go.
Think of me as your personalized driver! 🚙✨

"One thing an autonomous vehicle will never do is speed. So why would we put all that power into it?"
The whole @drivewithchip thesis in two sentences. Thanks @rileywk and @refreshmiami for digging into why we're taking a different road to autonomy.

I spend too many brain tokens dealing with verbosity of the models today. ChatGPT, Claude, all of them. Whoever fixes that is going to do very, very well.
This is the deepest dive on why @drivewithchip exists, who we are, and where we see the long term. Thanks @MotorTrend, @EdLoh and @mt_loverman for diving in and going for a drive.

I’ve believed that rightsized vehicles were inevitable in America for over 15 years. People thought (and still think) I’m crazy. Seeing the U.S. Department of Transportation share this article that includes @drivewithchip is so validating and puts a smile on my face.
The next BIG thing in transportation might actually be… TINY 👀🚗
Affordable, easy to drive, and built for short trips!
