Hi @CrossCountryUK. I’m curious why you generally only have four carriage trains through Winchester. Today’s Manchester service is packed with standing room only. @south_railway normally have at least 10 coaches. Could you maybe buy some more coaches?! Thanks

Following on from my earlier thread. At least another 30 people have offered to pay for this man’s dental care after seeing him on our evening news. Most say they don’t have lots of money but were moved to help. We’re really bowled over by people’s kindness & generosity.
How about this for kindness of strangers. I interviewed a man today in unbearable pain from a fractured tooth. After calling 111 he got an emergency appointment with a dentist who told him he’d need it removed but it could only be done privately for £100. He couldn’t afford that
so he had to leave still in pain armed only with antibiotics and paracetamol. He couldn’t find any dentists in his area taking on new NHS patients (his own dentist had, unbeknownst to him, removed him from their list as he hadn’t been there for a year). So he has no possibility
My friend and colleague Peter Cooke has quickly made this short doco about headteacher Ruth Perry and the movement for change at Ofsted that her death has begun. It’s only 14 mins and well worth a watch - very moving. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0…
A preschool’s owner told me Ofsted lacks “compassion & understanding" after it refused to defer an inspection. Kim Sallis tried to delay as the setting’s manager was on compassionate leave. Ofsted said it had to go ahead. That left staff sick with worry so she had to shut
Interesting to see how growing Ofsted reform movement has played out today. I've been reporting from Newbury school where head @FloraSCooper tried to block inspectors. In the end she had to let them in but there's clear support now for some kind of reform bit.ly/403L6eN
Following my previous tweet, the OFSTED inspection will go ahead tomorrow. The head has withdrawn her request for people to come to the school to help stop inspectors. But 3 teaching unions continue call for a pause of inspections and review of their impact on wellbeing of staff
Reporting live tonight for BBC South Today from John Rankin School in Newbury. Head @FloraSCooper says she’ll refuse entry to Ofsted inspectors. She and many others in education calling for pause of inspections after death of head teacher Ruth Perry following critical inspection
Hi @applesupport. Quick question. I have automatic app updates turned off on my iPhone 13 but @FilmicPro has updated to new version causing me probs as it’s not compatible with how we use it at work. Any idea why that may have happened please? Perhaps I have a setting wrong? Thx
Hi @applesupport have you had a chance to see my tweet from a week ago? Thank you
I noticed this plethora of candy stores on Oxford Street on a trip to London this week. Thought it was odd...
Replying to @ccAndrewBaker

It was great to meet @ianparmiter, see inside his fascinating home - "the house that time built" and film his art. What an inspiration.

My cameraman Trevor has the perfect parasol for a live on Oxford Road in Reading! It’s quiet here with people avoiding the lunchtime heat but that’s hitting independent traders

Not much evidence of clean public transport on my way to work on #CleanAirDay. As a @StagecoachSouth bus passed by me I was hit by a warm wall of fumes - really unpleasant. And this was the @CrossCountryUK train I got - polluting the platform
