📢 Are you passionate about science?🔬 We are looking for a #PhD candidate at Forschungszentrum Jülich to develop cutting-edge NMR hyperpolarization methods! The Helmholtz Association is an ideal place to learn and do world-leading research👩🔬👨🔬 #NMRchat #research @helmholtz_en
Thrilled to announce: this July I will start an independent Helmholtz research group at @fz_juelich to work on new methods and applications of #hyperpolarization for NMR and MRI🥳
Thank you everyone who has supported me🙏
PhD + Postdoc positions available, stay tuned!

If you solidify a target molecule with a PHIP-polarized source molecule, the polarization diffuses from source to target. Surprisingly, this even works when the source+target are ground together as dry powders. Thrilled PHIP-SSD is now published!🥳 #NMRchat

Easter weekend with a couple of friends doing the amateur Ronde van Vlaanderen - 160km filled with mud, cobbles and climbs. Started the day with a new pair of white socks..😃
By observing adiabatic transitions 'live', state transformations can be seen in real-time. It's like taking a video of the experiment instead of photos😃 We track the magnetization of hyperpolarized molecules subjected to simple pulse sequences. #NMRchat arxiv.org/abs/2402.10766
Quantum sensing steps forward Hyperpolarized NMR by enabling continuous detection during magnetogenesis.

ALT Real-time, time-domain NMR of hyperpolarized fumarate in water. Here, a high-resolution, non-interfering magnetometer is used to measure the magnetic field produced by the liquid while it undergoes several consecutive magnetization/demagnetization cycles. These are induced by field sweeps through the avoided level crossings at microtesla fields.
New paper online📢 We show that at high molar polarization, a sample's internal magnetic field (~μT) disrupts polarization transfer sequences. This limits polarization (image) but can be fixed by dipolar decoupling. Congrats to Laurynas and all! #NMRchat

Failing to hold Dominic Cummings & Boris Johnson to account: what I learned. You have to act now. After the event is after the event. You’ll be told to ‘move on’, to ‘get over it’ to ‘look forward’. This is already happening now. While people are dying.
I did my first triathlon, it was very fun! My favourite part was trying to nail the frantic transitions

🚨After getting the #ERC twice, here is my list of 99 questions. I often help friends and colleagues prepare grants and interviews. This list can be useful at any stage of the process (brainstorming, writing, preparing the interview).
I'd love to answer YOUR questions now 🙋💡
I'm always so relieved when I get a payslip, and see that the people in finances didn't forget a factor of 2π or ℏ from my wage or taxes
Only heard about TierZoo for the first time last month from a D&D friend. The guy ranks animals and describes species as if the world is a computer game and every animal is a player. Each epoch is a balance patch and eating gives you xp. It's sensational😀

Who says an optics setup should be flat? Tilted at 35degrees is the way forward😄 Picture taken at the end of a long day in the ZULF lab with @mcdtayler using an @nmrduino for some fun NMR experiments.

Super happy to see our paper out in @ChemCommun on hyperpolarizing succinate using PHIP. We do a two-step hydrogenation, using homogeneous catalysis for high polarization, and heterogeneous catalysis to avoid solution contamination. Take a look! #NMRchat
