CHWs are the unsung heroes of emergency response. They don’t just provide care—they strengthen community resilience when it matters most.
Check out this important piece from @HealthResponseA on why CHWs need more support in disaster planning.
Community health workers (CHWs) are essential in emergencies—but too often overlooked.
Our latest blog explores their critical role in disaster response and how we can better support them.

I saw a list of recommended NGO's to donate to today and was disappointed to see @SamaritansPurse listed. They make their anti-LGBTQ bigotry a core part of their identity- making all staff and volunteers take a statement of faith that you can read here: lnkd.in/eJNE-r6T
Everything about their identity flies directly in the face of actual humanitarian work. Every humanitarian I know has a Samaritans Purse story of them pulling some shenanigans- especially outside the US where they can get away with more.
There's so many great organizations responding, even faith based ones- SP isn't one of them

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating loss of our esteemed colleague, Mohammed Hamed Mansour Madi, whose life was tragically cut short yesterday when an airstrike hit his family home outside of Rafah killing him and seven of his relatives.
Mohammed worked as a nurse in our primary health clinic in Rafah, providing care to countless patients who had been displaced.
The only way to ensure the safety of our colleagues, health workers, and civilians is an immediate and permanent ceasefire NOW.

The #Comstock Act from 1873 (!) forbids sending “obscene, lewd or lascivious,” “immoral,” or “indecent” publications in the mail. The fact that this is being used to limit telemedicine and reproductive health is absurd. #mifepristone

Racial/ethnic and sexual minority groups remain disproportionately affected by STIs. To reverse disparities, we must address social, cultural & economic conditions that make it more difficult for sexually active people to stay healthy. bit.ly/418xbVe #STDreport #STIweek

The United States, sadly, is the only major country on Earth that doesn't guarantee paid sick days. Pathetic. In a modern civilized society, it should be a no-brainer that if you or your family gets sick, you should have paid sick leave. End of discussion.
