I have two Cooper’s hawks on the back patio sitting up in the mesquite tree. They are just yelling back and forth. Are they mad that Porch Owl is picking off too many pack rats and they don’t have enough to eat? I know this, all my chickens (my quail flock) are hiding- wisely.
So, this is a poor excuse for a decorative wreath…but the wildlife at my house hates my Halloween wreath so much that they are taking feathers off my fake birds. They are not a fan of my tacky fake black birds, crumpled sad ribbon and low effort. 🤣
I’ve been gardening on the front patio and Porch Owl seems to be enjoying listening to Theo of Golden- looks far less cranky that I’ve disturbed nap time than when I’m listening to the NYT headlines when I fetch the morning paper.

I have a darling little owl that has been sleeping on my front porch during the day for a couple of weeks and I am so in love it’s not even funny. When I walk outside, he turns and gives me this funny look like “Hello? Can I help you? I am trying to sleep, here.”

The Catalina foothills just got a few rain drops. The cardinals are begging for more food. I guess they are getting ready for the storm to come.
The president of the United States has stated he’s fine with the murder of my child and millions of Americans. Anyone voting for Republicans that support this madman should be shunned and shamed.

Also, unless you are escaping certain peril, fires, zombies- there is zero reason anyone should be rappelling with an infant. These parents should not be left unsupervised with their child until they prove they can make better decisions. Wtf.

We’ve had 1.5” of rain, so far, from Hurricane Polo. Hardly any wind and no lightning or thunder up in my neck of the Catalina foothills above Tucson. Wonder what the rainfall totals are elsewhere?

My eldest Bebé is at Georgetown where there is finally a chill in the air. Hence, the elderly kitty she adopted, who prefers the window open by her shaft of sunlight on the bed, was a bit chilly. So, the Bebé bought her a heating pad. Spoiled grandkitty.
