Let's give away some free textures!
These sketchy tiling textures are a great base for stylized materials in Substance Painter + Designer, Blender, Unreal Engine, all sorts really!
I hope you enjoy using them, and please share the love! 🙌

Remember folks, before you criticise a mesh you need to understand the context its applied in!
There is no right answer when it comes to optimisation, it depends on the industry, the medium, the goals, the constraints, everything adds up to why a mesh looks a certain way
I didnt think it would stir up such a discussion, let me explain some things.
Yes, its a lot of polygons, yes, it could be less, no it doesnt need to be.
This is not for a game, its a vtuiber model, its made for maximum visual quality and reference accuracy, there will be no performance problems with what its used for.
The mesh is like this for interaction with a shader.
I made it by hand, no retopo, no baking (what you see is after subdiv applied), because of how the 2d ->3d process works.
Fur cards would not look right for what im doing.
There is no shader applied right now, what you see is a flat painted texture.
I know how optimization works, this is not the place where its needed, and if it was, it could easy be added.
I understand people may not know that, or just want to egagement farm so idc about the cheeky qrts, and for everyone that already knows these things and likes what i do, thanks for the nice comments.

Someone stole footage of my game and claimed it was made with Astra. It wasn’t
Stealing an indie dev’s work, lying about it, then farming engagement off it is peak blue checkmark slop brain

This isn't a tool for artists, its a costcutter. It'll be rushed art going into the game and we'll be told "its fine just let the filter handle it". And if you think it looks bad now, when it doesn't have a solid base to work from its going to look inconceivably shite.

This one's all about starting a fight. Take a look at Vampirium: 1997's combat system with Mike, and some of the sanguinary abilities you can unlock.

How are Liverpool 9th yet we keep having players leave because we've been underpaying them for years?
First game jam in years, done.
Weight Expectations is a store simulator where you balance items with junk on a physical scale to fulfil customer orders.
Made in two days for #KenneyJam
I’ve spent the past months getting back into game dev. Four learning projects of classic games to refresh my skills and build upon what I’d learned during game jams years back.
I’m finally out of learning land and today I started proper prototyping on one of my ideas 🙌
Little test in Unity. It's surprisingly painless to get textures from the iPad over to the PC, I could definitely see it being a viable workflow for some assets. If there was too much back and forth I could see it being a pain though.
Ask any artist working in games, they'll tell you that having an artist-friendly pipeline that works for your games needs is paramount. Trying to work these AI slop meshes into any process would make me lose my damn mind
Unity's AI 3D generator just dropped and game devs are already worried 😅
Not because it doesn't work — but because it works just enough to flood Steam with another wave of zero-effort asset slop.
Million-poly single meshes. Impossible to rig. Impossible to animate. But visually convincing enough to fool a thumbnail 👀
The real question isn't "can AI make 3D models?" It's "can it make 3D models that are actually usable in a pipeline?"
Not yet. Not even close 🔥
