Statement on behalf of Alastair Clarkson
"My time as coach of the North Melbourne Football Club has come to an end.
We set out to stabilise the club and lay the foundations for a return to playing deep in September.
The challenge was a difficult one that I embraced with my whole being.
My family and I have been privileged to be involved in AFL football for over 40 years, but it is now time for a new chapter."
Massive day for @FC_Tasmania with our VFLW girls making their long overdue debut on the national stage. North Hobart Oval will be pumping with our VFL team at 11.05am then the girls at 2.35pm. Another giant step to 2028

Thank you @NMFCOfficial for your care and support of Alastair. He is relieved that this investigation is over with no findings against him. His well-being remains his priority and we will not be making any public comment at this time.
North Melbourne president Dr Sonja Hood has penned the following letter to members and fans.

My earliest childhood memories are from this amazing ground in Hobart that today becomes the backdrop for the announcement of a lifelong dream for Tasmania to have its own @AFL team. Congrats @BelieveTasmania and everyone that has played their part in making this happen.
Love the graphic @NMFCOfficial and congratulate your club on continuing to trailblaze opportunities for women in sport. Has been empowering to experience this first hand over the last six months.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay!
