What happened to my friend and colleague @Vasudha156 is disgraceful. She is a reporter par excellence. Sharp, thorough, and consistently among the best field journalists covering Indian politics. Watching a crowd surround and heckle her is not “protest.” It is bullying. She has earned the respect of peers across the spectrum for a reason.

One rarely finds a truer global friend of India than the late Shinzo Abe. A visionary and an architect of the Indo-Pacific, he made us realise that India and Japan are extended maritime neighbours. It is an honour to have Mrs Akie Abe amongst us. Some partnerships are the need of the century, geopolitically and economically, in shared interests and shared values. On specific deals, the parties involved may differ and debate. But the India-Japan bond is made for the 21st century. To quote Shinzo Abe: "A strong India is in the best interest of Japan, and a strong Japan is in the best interest of India... The India-Japan relationship holds the greatest potential of any bilateral relationship anywhere in the world." #NDTVIndiaJapanSummit #IndiaJapan
India and Japan. A partnership with a shared vision — and an important conversation about its next chapter. Today, NDTV brings together leading voices from India and Japan at the NDTV India-Japan Summit. Among the distinguished guests is Mrs Akie Abe, wife of the late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, alongside key Japanese political advisers and leaders of major Japanese companies with a deep presence in India. The vision for a stronger India-Japan partnership shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe has evolved into a broad strategic and economic relationship. At the Summit, the focus is firmly on what comes next — investment, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, supply chains and new opportunities for both countries. NDTV India-Japan Summit: bringing the people shaping this partnership together to discuss its future. #NDTVIndiaJapanSummit #IndiaJapan
