Yesterday, gue posting foto ini di IG Story karena gue genuinely believe in what it stands for. Apparently, postingan itu sampai ke perhatian orang tua gue, yang memang punya pandangan homofobik terhadap komunitas LGBTQ+. Mereka marah, mempertanyakan kenapa gue harus posting foto seperti ini, lalu mulai lecture gue tentang kenapa LGBT dianggap salah dan mengapa keberadaan komunitas ini mengkhawatirkan. Honestly, gue nggak terlalu terkejut karena that's literally the reaction I expected. Sekarang gue dengar kemungkinan bakal dipanggil lagi untuk membahas postingan ini, and I'm just hoping I can get through another lecture without hearing the same arguments over and over again. Before I get called in for another lecture, gue cuma mau bilang satu hal bahwa LGBTQ+ bukan ancaman! And I'm sorry if two guys kissing is apparently enough to ruin your entire day. Their existence is not a threat to society, families, or anyone else's way of life. Gue paham orang tua gue punya pandangan dan keyakinan sendiri, but supporting LGBTQ+ people doesn't mean attacking anyone's beliefs. Gue stand with my queer friends, and I'll continue to support their right to exist, to love, and to live freely without discrimination. Mereka deserve the same dignity, respect, and fundamental rights as everyone else. Gue nggak harus menjadi bagian dari komunitas tersebut untuk memahami bahwa mereka berhak diperlakukan secara manusiawi, that's all.
