$8 Million later and I bought the block on 23rd and Union in my city, Seattle. What a feeling. Did it battling depression; did it losing loved ones; did it with people leaving my side; did it hungry; did it with a smile on my face #BIY

Seattle has plenty of restaurants that deserve the hype, but some of my favorite spots are the ones you might not hear about as often. Hamdi, Communion, Walrus and Carpenter, Canlis, Saint Bread, and Mt. Bagel have all made a name for themselves. But if you’re looking to get off the beaten path, add Zax Eat and Three, Nirvana, Curbside, Gan Bei, La Cabana, and Pizza by Ruffin to your list. Save this for your next Seattle food adventure and tell me which spot I should try next.

Every billionaire "started in a garage" story conveniently leaves out the parental loans, elite university connections, and safety nets. Bezos got $300k from his parents. Gates' mom was on IBM's board. Musk's family owned an emerald mine. The garage is aesthetics. The capital is inherited. Stop calling it self-made when it's generationally funded.

Maybe I’m just old school, but if somebody tells you good news, you let them have their moment. You don’t immediately top their story with something better that happened to you.

Walking with Ancestors, Leading with Love: Inside DeAunt’e Damper’s Powerful Pride Tribute History wasn’t just made on Sunday—it was felt in every heartbeat, every shout, and every tear on the streets of Seattle. Deaunte Damper stepped into his well-deserved place as the Grand Marshal of the Seattle Pride Parade, marking a monumental milestone as the first Black man born and raised in this city to hold this honor. But as Deaunte reminded us all, this wasn’t just a moment of celebration; it was a Rally. It was a movement. This powerful video captures the profound emotional weight, the radiant joy, and the uncompromising truth brought to the pavement. From honoring the beautiful spirits of those we have lost—like Dwone Anderson-Young and Hiram Salisbury—to channeling the revolutionary words of Bayard Rustin, Sunday was a soulful reclamation of space, time, and dignity. As Deaunte so beautifully and urgently declared: “This is not performative. This is so actionary. You want our rhythm, but you don’t want our blues... Prioritize us.” Let those words echo long after the confetti settles. We are standing up, standing together, and refusing to be ignored. A massive, heartfelt thank you to Seattle Pride for this historic occasion and for amplifying the homegrown voices that lead, organize, and heal our city every single day. Immense gratitude to the incredible Converge Media crew who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and behind the lens to capture the raw, beautiful essence of this day: Alaia D'Alesandro, Erik Kalligraphy, ProofNThePlay, Emilio Dominguez, and Mead Gill. Thank you for ensuring our stories are told with the dignity, color, and power they deserve. #SeattlePride #WeLiveInColor #DeaunteDamper #HistoricMoment #BlackQueerExcellence #Rally2026 #WWConverge #BlackMediaMatters
