encouraging someone to suffer from moral OCD because they're boycotting Israel is like encouraging someone's eating disorder because they're boycotting the agricultural industry. they need treatment so that they can SAFELY reapproach boycotting someday. dumbass
Replying to @yuhabina
moral ocd wasn't a thing in this situation sorry, they were the only American with a conscience then their therapist made them evil again

It's fucking incredible how much of a stink everyone, right and left, makes about 'rising anti-semitism' when this is just how your average conservative is towards muslims.
Hey New York... YOU FORGOT!!

Human moral reasoning relies extensively on metaphors from physical experience. We say “you’re sick!” or “he’s dirty” as moral metaphors because we being sick or dirty in real life is an unpleasant experience. So if you tell people “better to be more dysgenic” and construct fitness as definitionally fascistic (even if it *can* be, in some circumstances), people will think you’re insane, because they know how it feels to be sick and weak (bad), and how it feels to be fit (good). You’re telling them that the thing they know as a state of suffering is virtue, and they thing they know as a state of pleasure is sin. So, yeah, people will reject yu. There’s also a leftist tic on display here—to simply invert all existing morality in order to reject everything contaminated by capitalist hegemony. “Capitalists think being sick and disabled is bad; therefore it is good.” But this misidentifies which things exist *because* of capitalism, and which things predate it and have been metabolized into it; people have been using sickness and health as moral metaphors for millennia (probably forever, tbh, but can’t say for sure without written sources). Long before capitalism, people were doing this. Why? Because it feels bad to be sick! And it feels good to be fit and physically capable! That is actually a pretty universal human experience. So if you try to invert that and render sickness and disability as metaphorically or literally virtuous, people will find you insane

Sorry but if you look and sound like a right wing caricature of a leftist, the best thing you can do for the movement is stay home and keep these views to yourself
🚨 “The More Dysgenic, the Better”: Beatrice Adler-Bolton Says the Left Must Give Up the “Fantasy of Being Fitter Than the Fascists” At Socialism 2026, Adler-Bolton argues that “fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism” and says the goal should not be to become “more useful to the ruling order.” She says the left should not try to beat fascists “at their own game” by becoming “fitter, more eugenic.” “In fact, the more dysgenic, the better, I think.” She closes by arguing that revolution is not “a contest between optimized and properly prepared bodies” and that the very idea is itself fascist.

If Dolly hadn't established herself pre internet, you would've hated her. Her politics weren't partisan but they were loud through ACTIONS. She knew talks cheap and when opening her wallet was the most powerful thing she could do. People dont appreciate shit like that anymore.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but academia is not worth ruining your life over. It’s a job, that too a relatively poor paying job. Job prospects are abysmal. You lose control over where you Iive, research funds are drying up, students aren’t very interested.

📣 A note on one of our own: Managing Editor Jacob Sutherland (@jacobsuther) is on the academic job market this year. Jacob brings expertise in local institutions and political behavior, and would be a tremendous addition to any department or institution. sites.google.com/uci.edu/jac…

Nah, that Professor is so right. I do this all the time. Talking to students about their work is a core part of teaching. Also, the way you address her is so disrespectful.
Hello yt lady. So as a student, having to set up a time to go see my professor during their office hrs, while juggling my other classes, assignments, org responsibilities, job shifts & social life is an additional responsibility after I already completed the assignment.
